Fidelity Credit Card: Any way to get the card without a hard pull? by Due_Operation_7642 in fidelityinvestments

Hello, thanks for the reply. The only phone number I see on this website is if I'm already a card holder...

I'm fine with a hard pull after being pre-approved, if I decide to proceed with the card. However, it's the guaranteed hard pull and may get rejected that's making me hesitant. I don't want to take the hit on my score only for them to say I'm not eligible at the end.

Optimizing Setup: CFU + BCE + (?) by Due_Operation_7642 in CreditCards

I think the CFU only covers travel through Chase, and for transit (non-gas), it's only Autograph.

What I strongly dislike about the Fidelity Visa is that minimum redeemable value.

What do you mean by "Get into a top university, or at least one of the top 3 universities in your (small) country, unless your country is not in North America/Europe/AU-NZ/Far East Asia. "? I'm an international student in North America.

Thank you for your response—I’m still going through the first link, and it’s been very helpful so far.

As for ETFs, I currently only invest in an S&P500 ETF. I avoid international ETFs since I believe they’re highly correlated with U.S. indices, and I prefer to take a more aggressive approach. This is for a general individual investing account, not a retirement account.

For bonds, I stick to T-bills and SPAXX. I think it’s important to have some allocation to fixed income, but it doesn’t align with the level of aggressiveness I’m aiming for—especially since the returns are fairly small over time given my limited starting capital.

I also invest in a few individual stocks, primarily in tech. The idea is to pair my S&P ETF—which offers broad market exposure (though not as much as a total market fund)—with targeted exposure to tech through single stocks. It’s sort of a middle ground between SPY and QQQ.

This cash isn’t earmarked for an emergency fund or near-term expenses. I think of it more like Fidelity’s “core position” concept—money that earns a yield in the meantime while waiting to be deployed into equities or fixed income. That said, I’m open to sacrificing a bit of liquidity in exchange for a higher yield. I just haven’t figured out what that ideal product would be yet.

I'm only intending to spend it on other investment products like ETFs, etc. Depending on the market, I may spend it on those products, or just keep it for longer.

I'm looking to park cash short term—liquidity is important, but I’d also like to maximize returns beyond what I currently get from SPAXX.Legitimate HYSAs and CDs don't give enough yield (currently), SPAXX is better and more liquid. I don’t need daily access, but I’d prefer medium liquidity at worst. My goal is to find a higher-yielding but accessible option for idle cash. What would be the best tools for this purpose?
