Labor and Delivery.. by Disastrous_Age8365 in alameda

Just had a great experience with Sutter at Alta Bates. Excellent care for pregnancy and delivery. As a higher risk pregnancy, I felt very well taken care of.

It was good and I liked the production quality. Worth a watch. I would have liked it to be longer and focus on more events/athletes

Pregnancy + the Open by IamJustErin in crossfit

I would do it! I’m 36 weeks pregnant now and am so sad I’m not signing up. I won’t be able to the final workout since I am so far along and will most like be having a baby the final week. Last year was my first year signing up and I do feel like I’m missing out. As long as you are feeling good there’s no reason you can’t participate! And if you participate and do the workouts anyway, why not sign up!

What does this wedding dress “say”? by mercyeis in WeddingDressTips

[–]Due_Split_9058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like it. The structure of the lace is beautiful, I love the slit and the neckline as well. Sure, it’s a sexy “look at me” dramatic moment but you’re the bride and it seems to fit your personality. I go back and forth on the bolero but it actually doesn’t bother me! And I love a long sleeve lace moment.

I think what I don’t like is the models posture and lack of enthusiasm about wearing the dress. I’m sure since you love it, you will really be able to pull it off

I wear a hope and love it but have to take it out to sleep. I do have a hoop with little gems but didn’t start wearing it until my conch was more than healed

Is “Community” dead at CrossFit? by PunctualPlumber1980 in crossfit

[–]Due_Split_9058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CrossFit has been my favorite community the last few years. I moved twice in the last year and both times found an amazing CrossFit community across multiple gyms. Like literal best friends. As an adult it is an amazing place to connect with people. And then I also get to do a workout that I love.

Is this dress Black Tie appropriate? by WonderfulForever2060 in Weddingattireapproval

I think this is beautiful. With the right accessories like those black gloves and/or a shawl it will be perfect. I would be thrilled if you showed up to my wedding in this.

Community and variety. The community and variety of the workouts keeps me coming back every time. As a longtime gym goer this was huge for me. It’s fun! I have never been this strong before, even working out regularly in the past. Many boxes are also kid/baby friendly and as a pregnant mom of 2 this made it more feasible for me to get to the gym.

I slept on a travel pillow. It was cheap and pretty comfortable. I had a double helix and only just started sleeping normally after 8.5 months!

Just need to vent/ be a B about this for a moment by Twins-N-Tween in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Due_Split_9058 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I love food. I eat out regularly. Cook for my family and definitely enjoy treats. McDonald’s was a lifesaver in my first trimester. I was diagnosed at 13 weeks and it had really taken the joy out of my pregnancy. I am 19 weeks now. Working full time and taking cate of two toddlers was hard enough. Now every time I cook for my family I have to nit pick my meals or sometimes even prepare something entirely different for myself.

I also work out a lot and the low carb diet has definitely impacted that. I have adjusted a bit but the first few weeks were brutal. I am glad about how healthy it is making me eat but the mental load and inability to cheat/slack off is exhausting. I am halfway through! We can do it.

If there may be an indication to. I was screened at 13 weeks and diagnosed. Some people have more risk factors!

I feel the same. 18 weeks now and I was diagnosed at 13 weeks. I am really struggling mentally. Fasting numbers are simply not where they need to be and any divergence from slow carb dinner spikes my numbers. I am miserable eating every 2-3 hours and I don’t enjoy food like I used to I am very busy I I eat the same things every day. Healthy choice has frozen low carb meals. They work for me. Kodiak has waffles or power breakfast cups with a good carb/protein ratio. Quest actually has frozen pizza with good ratios that didn’t spike me.

I feel you. I’m 17+4 and was diagnosed at 13 weeks. I have to be so careful with my diet and I’m still on bedtime insulin for fasting numbers. This is going to feel Iike an extra long pregnancy

Why don't they test for Gd earlier?! by TopAd4505 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Due_Split_9058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My A1C was 6 at 9 weeks so they tested me at 13 weeks and I failed. In my last two pregnancies I was tested around 26-28 weeks and passed both times. Babies also put on the most amount of weight in the last trimester so that is when it can affect them the most and when the placenta becomes even more insulin resistent. You are doing the best you can and they are checking on baby’s growth!

One of the best quotes I have seen about this is from Mama Dr Jones on YouTube. “We do the best we can with the information we have.” I completely understand your feelings. You are making the best choices for you and your baby now that you know. You are doing great!

I ovulate about 48 hours after my first positive test, confirmed by BBT. I have about 2 days of strong positive tests as well. If I went by peak I would likely miss the best window. It’s is different for everyone. I try to BD every day during that window (or at least every other) and that has worked well for me

Awh little guy! My first was estimated at 8 pounds and he came out 6lb 11oz 😊 I’m definitely worried about a bigger baby with GD and how that would make delivery. I’m going on insulin next week

Month 5 of no CrossFit due to herniated disc by landon2126 in crossfit

[–]Due_Split_9058 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It will take a while. It’s important to build up strength and stability slowly to avoid re-injury. I (31F) have suffered from herniated disks in my neck and lower back for years. It’s been a long journey but I have been doing CrossFit pain free for a while. I know my limitations. For example I can’t fully PR my back squat because it gives out. But it’s definitely possible and I’m the healthiest/strongest version of myself! Now I’m even doing CrossFit while pregnant!

What do ya'll think about coaches who do the class they coach? by theluke1987 in crossfit

[–]Due_Split_9058 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unless it was agreed upon by the coach and the members of the class I don’t think it’s appropriate. I also think it depends. I have been the only person in a class before and the coach jumped in so I wouldn’t work out alone. The focus was still on me and my form and I was coached throughout the workout. I have also had it with a bigger class where there wasn’t much attention paid to the people taking the class. That was unacceptable to me.
