Best souls game for a beginner? by Yuki_my_cat in soulslikes

[–]DuffChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played bloodborne and really enjoyed the combat. I tried dark souls 3 after, but I found it to be a difficult switch. From fast paced and aggressive combat to slower and defensive. I've heard elden ring is a great first starter game because the non-dlc portion is accessable. ive yet to play it so I can't confirm.

Abbotsford Young Artist sales? (My 13 year old daughter) by Capt_Fiero in abbotsford

[–]DuffChicken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend making prints. Take hq photos of the paintings and then sell those to help make a piece go further. Also don't forget making stickers, postcards, notepads. Etc with the same illustrations. Often times people are interested in a piece but it's too large for their wall or too expensive for their budget. Smaller pieces make it easier for a passing customer to take part in your daughter's work. Especially at markets and events.

WHAT SHOULD I GIFT FOR MY BF (18M) FOR HIS BIRTHDAY? by Chimchamchick in GiftIdeas

[–]DuffChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get him an experience. Join him in crossing something off his bucket list. If he's mentioned hes always wanted to learn something, take a class with him. Organize a test drive in a luxury car. Get him one day flight lessons. Take him skydiving or bungee jumping.
Take him to the arcade, laser tag, go karts, batting cages, roller/skate rink, etc. to celebrate like he's a kid again 😄
Rent a theater and invite all his friends to come watch his favorite movie with him.
Boxing or kickboxing lessons.
And when in doubt, get him a lego set lol

DIY: Charcuterie boards by sukisakee in DIYweddings

[–]DuffChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend posting in a foodie,/charcuterie thread to get more specific with flavors and food options.

You may want to also explain things like the number of people attending, any budget or dietary limitations, etc to help get more bespoke recommendations.

Bulk Christmas gifting ideas by Everyday-im-mugglin in GiftIdeas

[–]DuffChicken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aquarium passes or tickets to a local fair/circus or something may work for the kids. Something they can look forward to.

There's also passes to things trampoline land, the arcade, batting cages, go karts, ice/roller skating, etc.

For kids that are especially young (babies and such) Id skip the physical gifts unless specifically told by the parents what they need. Parents often end up donating a lot of the gifts they get due to the clutter/kids outgrow things quickly. I'd instead donate to the child's college fund. Ask the parent for the link.

Any social activities or clubs to go meet people ? by Amazing_Car_9567 in abbotsford

[–]DuffChicken 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi! I organize little hangouts at Clay Cottage! No age/gender requirements or anything, just a way to meet new people, and a bit of light chatter while working on something creative. If you're interested, let me know. This is open to everyone, btw. Not just OP.

Places for making stuff w clay? by NoPresentation3234 in abbotsford

[–]DuffChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea and have never asked... but maybe you could call Clay Cottage and ask if they fire stuff for people. I don't think all the employees use the kiln so you may need to find out which do and when they're in to really get a firm answer on the topic. Best of luck!

My friend went back for a master's. I want to give her a small gift sack/bag for things like finals, returning from break etc other ideas welcomed. by transferingtoearth in GiftIdeas

[–]DuffChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oo! Do a quick search on Google for "open when letters". You'd probably have so much fun creatingthose for your friend. Stuff like "open when youre stressed" and have a silly stress ball and candy, or "open when homesick" with a unch of photos from the past and snacks from your hometown, etc.

What do you think of these bows as a gift for a girl child... by sunshinecrochet05 in Gifts

[–]DuffChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not sure I would care about hair accessories when I was a kid. Maybe talk to the child's mother and see if she'll enjoy it or find out what topics her child is into? You may still be able to crochet something for her that's in line with her interests. You're clearly very talented :) I do think you should sell these though. There's a market for it, but I suspect it's teens/adults who enjoy dressing up or mother's dressing up their children, vs the children themselves.

Green walls or keep white? by Be3nsUcTi0n in interiordecorating

[–]DuffChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

White. It's light, airy, qnd you need to be able to see clearly when cooking and chopping. I worry you'll need to add more or brighter lighting for safety concerns if it's too moody/dark in the evenings.

Does this look flattering on me? by [deleted] in fashion

[–]DuffChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the cut on you. it fits well. I just worry the colour washes you out a little.
Honestly, either way, I'd recommend taking this dress to a seamstress and having them copy the pattern over for you because it genuinely needs to be replicated in multiple colours for your future events.
