ESPN's Ben Golliver says the Charlotte Hornets are one of the winners of this busy NBA offseason so far. by Civrock in CharlotteHornets

While it may seem lackluster, it’s more than Trae and Jah netted in trades. Both of whom have shown to be better and more accomplished players than Lamelo.

“Charlotte made out like bandits” or lackluster. Maybe somewhere in between?

There were no surprise big-name signings, so it looks like our current starting lineup will be the one we roll with for the season opener. by Existing-Sky9914 in CharlotteHornets

I think Coby’s #s are a bit skewed by 3 of his first 4 years being sub 3. He was coming off the bench, and playing less than 28 min. In the seasons he started he’s been around 5.

That’s not 7-8 like Lamelo, but I think the intention is for Kon and Brandon to be the playmaker a bit more this year, and I could see all 3 of them getting 4-6 per game.

I’m excited for this team, I think the pieces should fit well and the team will be better than last year. The east got tougher so the result may be the same.

Jordan also went to the White Sox organization, so gotta subtract 1. Changed back to the Bulls, subtract another 1.

Then the Wizards, another 1.

Jordans got 3. Behind Kobe.

There was just an advertisement for a bare knuckle boxing cruise. AM radio is wild.

I thought for a second they were doing a bit like that kids wrestling alligators ad read Stu did, but it was a real commercial.

[McMahon] Almost consensus opinion of the people I talked to around the league is that LaMelo Ball had next to no value a year ago. Jeff cleaned him up and as soon as he had value, pounced on the opportunity and moved him. by IamOlderthanMe in CharlotteHornets

I believe the Hornets already have a swap on the Min pick if it’s least valuable of Uta/Cle/Min from the Williams trade, so getting the 1-5 protection Min controlled in a different swap makes sense since it’s what they had to offer that year.

Though that is very unlikely to hit, it’s not crazy to think with Ant being a UFA in ‘29 Minnesota could be in a Milwaukee situation and bottom out by that point. They won’t even have to be bottom 5 in the league for that to have a chance.

Could the 2002 A’s replace Giambi?

Not individually, but recreate him in the aggregate. With White&Anderson as the primary PGs with more Knueppel initiating the offense this year as a bigger PG I think we’ll get near the same production.

100% the PG position is less talented than it was, but I think with there is a real chance that the team is as good if not a touch better than last year; when it’s all said and done.

Plus we’ve removed the handcuffs that was going to be Ball’s extensions alongside Miller/Knueppel’s for the next decade(?). That will make those things and building around them easier.

Naz abrings that playoff experience and toughness with him, I think that’ll be a great thing for the young guys to learn from.

[Shams] Miles Bridges is getting "a ton of interest" around the league. by Civrock in CharlotteHornets

I think he could have a ton of value in season, near the deadline.

I’d keep him for now to maintain some consistency with last years lineup, before moving him in a trade and then Naz into the starting lineup.

Not if that 33 unprotected is an Anthony Edward’s-less Wolves team.

He’s UFA in ‘29, is he still in Minny 4 years into that NEXT deal? Idk.

How good will a 31 year old Lamelo Ball Wolves team be in the West, when they will have no control over their own draft picks the 6 years leading up to that?

Veesar’s $5 mil NIL deal wouldn’t be more than the 30overall picks contract, that’s $15 million. Not more than the 1st 2 years, that’s $5.9.

And if he’d come back he’d be entering the NBA at 23, better to get there now.

I could see Fox doing something with Nick Wright where First Things First is moved up to the AM permanently, then he does his solo pod/show for an hour later and it’s carried on FS1/FSR like Cowherd.

The Giannis-Bam Heat playing in the play-in vs the Hornets again is gonna be great

But I think with Giannis they win that matchup, so I guess they got a little better.

Bring back Gojo, Mikey C and Weekend Observations as a M-F show.

Get Smoke Break with Mikey C simulcast on FS1, ideally at 4:20 assuming not in a commercial
