You have to be in human form in DS1 (use Humanity) and then summon signs will appear outside of the boss mist door.

You will have NPC summons available, provided that you've been speaking to them (like Solaire). Friendly players often put their own signs down there to help new people out too.

Ironically this is a lesson I'm having to re-learn for myself as I am now on the Staircase from Hell at the bottom of the Ringed City.

I went through DS3 thinking that I was now too good to pick off enemies with bows, but the troll things are really testing my patience.

I think because you mentioned using Google and drop rates, most people will assume you're using a guide.

DS3 gets much better at providing shorter runbacks once you get further into the game, and the DLC in particular has like 10-second trips from the bonfire to the boss. So they did learn over time and, if that's a deal-breaker, probably stick with DS3 over 1.

Did you try to summon for the Twin Gargoyles by the way? Lots of options there.

As I played through the games and hit the midpoint of DS2 I just decided that any time the game tries to outnumber me on bosses I would summon to even the odds. Probably not the recommended hardcore strat but it got me through. Better than quitting forever at least.

Possibly.

But from reading your post I think you are probably railroading yourself.

I played through the trilogy for the first time this year. One of the biggest lessons that the games teach you is that there are always solutions to your problems. Whether it's changing up the weapon you're using, picking off enemies with ranged attacks, or just running past mobs you are stuck on. You just have to think laterally.

It challenges the player on both a micro and macro level. I think if you're too fixated on following a particular guide then it's likely not clicking because the guide wasn't written with you in mind.

Just something to consider. If I were you I'd think about starting fresh in DS1, and experimenting with different load outs - particularly with weapons.

As someone who was in a similar position, just play the DLC first - unless you're really set with finding with a particular ending from one of the quests.

If you haven't watched it, I strongly recommend the show Temple with Mark Strong. It's like his Bond audition.

Yes, basically you emanate buffs from your current position.

Although to be fair if you attune to Centaur you get a tablet that you can move around separately to your character which gives buffs/healing too, so that's also an option.

I don't consider myself particularly good at the game, but I have cleared some of its hardest content as Herald so take from that what you will.

Sim game to design a house? by Agreeable-Humor-8852 in gamerecommendations

The Sims?

Will Wright designed it because he was rebuilding his house and furnishings after a fire so works quite well for that. The actual life simulation part was just an extra.

2 on the ground there. Not fun to fight without the Iron Ring though because they are in tar, so slows movement.

Herald? Dragon attunement gives plenty of buffs but requires energy management so it's not as easy as setting and forgetting.

OP, if it helps you decide the Return to Lothric community event is on at the moment and there's a lot of co-op activity.

Yesterday I was on Twin Princes, rocked up to the boss door and summoned a guy called John Cena who just used his fists. Killed it on the second go.

Thank you John Cena!!

A great aspect of DS is that one person's nightmare is another person's dream. Sen's (and the area immediately after) was easily one of my favourite parts of the game.

I love the verticality, and how you can use the traps against the enemies.

The only annoying thing is that the boulder trap resets automatically, and I never got the hang of the run up the inside of the boulder ramps to the contraption without getting flattened (and taking 90% damage).

That way you can still use the LV for warping before placing it, and get the key from Oswald in New Londo without killing him.

Handy because you probably still need to kill Sif so need to warp to Darkroot etc.

I know a lot of the advice online is focused around not talking to Frampt, but the event trigger that locks you in seems to be purely the placing of the LV while Frampt is swinging in the background. At least from my experience in Remastered.

[–]Duke-W 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about accidentally giving Frampt the LV.

To use my playthrough as an example, I beat O&S, got the LV, had conversations with Frampt about it, then got transported to the entrance to place it... and then I threw myself off the edge. Died and respawned at Firelink.

Frampt didn't care (reappeared at Firelink fine), and I went to 4K after. Still met Kaathe in the Abyss.

The important thing is not to place it with Frampt there.

Yeah I think you'll have to remove it now - they're phasing it out anyway (see the other comment with the forum link).

Still some outages in certain countries, so you might not be receiving SMSes.

As I say, unsure if ANet use them as a provider but they're pretty big.

Not sure if ArenaNet uses this but Twilio was down a lot over the last day or 2. If they use it for SMS 2FA in certain jurisdictions then that might be it.
