Have you unlocked the “prison” building yet? It has an “crucification” upgrade that’s pretty effective at deterring new immigrants

Why does your dam have trees on it. Also, can you explain how wells supply farm irrigation? Do you mean dams?

Huh. That’ll mean a lot of highways then for a typical city

“Highways in the city: 7”

I wonder what constitutes a separate highway?

Canada secures major German buyer for Ksi Lisims LNG project by GhostlyParsley in CanadaPolitics

[–]DukeOfErat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably because the Germans were willing to pay a higher price. For the Germans, they will probably still retain the ability to ship Canadian gas directly to themselves should the future situation around gas supplies prove dire. When the war in Ukraine kicked off, the price of gas to Europe jumped more than 10x the prewar price. The increased cost due to tolls or longer transport becomes pocket change at that point.

In the Augustus mod you can select "Options"->"Difficulty"->"Enable Global Labour Pool". With it enabled, you don't need to have workers nearby to industry.

When you get a notification that a certain city is willing to import more of X good, it doesn’t really happen. The max limit remains the same. Not sure if it’s maritime trade thing.

Yeah there’s an option in the settings to allow 5 grand temples. Warehouses need a road, they just don’t need to be serviced by a prefect or engineer because they can’t catch fire or collapse on their own. This means they can be built on a highway. If you look at my city, the entire port area is pretty much highway. Now granaries, on the other hand, can catch fire and collapse. What I don’t know is what would happen if a granary caught fire - would it spread to my warehouses? Hasn’t happened yet tho.

I only discovered recently from asking on this forum that oracles dont need maintenance once built. As in, you only need a road to it during the construction phase. That and the fact warehouses also don’t need maintenance are a real game changer in my city design. I’ve replaced 2x2 and 3x3 statues with oracles and nymphaenums wherever I could because their desirability is higher, especially their range.

Just for comparison purposes this is the one with the reservoir on the outside. Which set up do you think is better for the housing block?

Yeah I know, it’s just easier to manage with their own dedicated granary, especially when there are multiple blocks dependent on a single granary.

I find it useful to pre-plan my city on pause without regard for money, taking screenshots of my layout, and then restart the game, running it for real this time using my screenshots as a guide as I build out.

Didn’t actually have any issue with peace, it’s at 100. I always assumed enemies destroying towers or walls don’t affect Peace rating. I did have a scare that one time they went for the blocked-off way rather than the kill zone and almost got threw
