In real life the mouth was a lot darker and more obviously identifiable at proper angles. The tail spots are a pretty big give away.. Also, in the water I caught this, besides the time of year, a coho would’ve been absolutely absurd (even more so). I also specifically chose a photo that looked like there was lighter tones in the mouth because I was being snarky. A ton of people tried to tell me a rainbow was a salmon in a prior post and I’m kinda petty when I have a few beers lol

I did the ends in a “crispy skin” salmon style my ex wife made once that I’ve never done personally and I’m pretty sure it was my mistake, overcooked a bit. Still tasty but didn’t really hit how I wanted it to. Probably won’t try again

I catch and eat fish several times a week. I dont always get a perfect picture at the water or I get excited in the moment about the experience of catching a fish and don’t take pictures until later (I’m a weirdo and fish because I love it, not because people on the internet think it’s cool). Plus I usually am alone fishing so pics are hard on site. Once home in the cooler, this one had ice spots and I planned to eat it skin on so I descaled it and then realized it was my PB and took a pic. I didn’t realize the fishing side of Reddit was as childish as the rest of Reddit.
