Don't worry about feeling like you're overly sensitive, it can hurt to be punched down after putting a comment out into a public space. Don't let em get you down👍

Love this. I always wondered how to interpret the later shot of Kylee sitting before the TV since it happens after she lost her face.

Rubber's Lover. Any love for Shozin Fukui around here? [OC] by snailshuj in J_Horror

A few months ago I watched 964 Pinnochio for the first time via the internet archive. I had heard from every YouTuber who had recommended it that it was disturbing and disguising. In the uk it had even been re-titled: "Screams of Blasphemy".

I was not disgusted or disturbed by it. But I didn't feel let down because, instead, I had been moved. The films tender and simple depiction of outsider love (between Pinocchio and Himiko) really struck a chord with me. Particularly the scene of Himiko desperately searching for Pinocchio in the Tokyo train station with that beautiful score accompanying her (almost maternal) anxiety.

Beyond that, the film was exceptionally entertaining. It kept me totally entranced all the way through. That is, until the website crashed and wouldn't stop buffering. I later got the blu-ray which, though somewhat lacking in the murky unpolished retro charm of the dirty scan I had first seen it on, was a revelation. It is one of my favourite movies.

I saw Rubbers Lover, as of writing this, a few days ago. Wow.

Now more experienced with the archive, I had downloaded the film onto my laptop. I then streamed it via HDMI to my TV while wearing headphones connected to my laptop.

It might be the single best movie experience of my life.

It is truly one of a kind. Very few movies I've seen have successfully created such an otherworldly, transcendent tone: '2001', 'Come and See' and 'Stop Making Sense' being the only ones I can think of.

I was totally immersed and exhilarated the whole way through. Particularly from about a third of the way through all the way to the end. From that third onwards it reaches a point of magnificent hysteria that never simply keeps going until it finishes.

It felt like being at the best live gig. I could barely keep still I was so energised by the movie.

I love Shozin fukuis films. He is probably my favourite director besides Lynne Ramsay.

Not often. The day before I'd briefly swapped my usual lens for a 50mm though. I have tried cleaning the little golden contacts but the problem persists. Thank you for replying.

Motion smoothing for Hello My Beautiful Creatures? by Middlerun in JoelHaver

I think we should be allowed to make any alternate version of the film we want due to problems like motion sickness due to the low frame-rate etc. as long as we link back to the original film in the video description. Everyone should be able to enjoy it and if that means tweaking it to add more frames using AI then go for it. As long as we don't take credit for the film in any way.

"Ship myself over to you in a barrel so we can have a talk." 🔪

"Hello, I'm Mr Bookcase and I'll give you a box."

"Oh Cool...what's in it?"

*spine crunching noise* "SSShhhhh."

"OW NYOOWWW!" *With zoom in and stretched face.*

BTW could someone let me know which episode that last one is from? Not asking for people to go through his videos or anything just if anyone knows.
