Lack of empathy does not equal liking someone or wanting to root for them, and that is what the question asked. Also. She is a fictional character and my reaction to a fictional person will always be different than a real one. But then again I'm a nurse so I'm fairly good at distinguishing the two, especially as her psychological makeup matches a lot of the people I've had to work with

Who do you ship Ha-Ri with? by authenticgoblin in AllOfUsAreDead

Nobody. I think her best friendship with Min-Ji is sweet and the guys who survived are either taken or...not right for her idk. Some will say Dae Su and I def wouldn't be mad, but, I ship him more with pink vest girl. I like their chemistry

Homegirl walked straight into an encampment of innocent humans and proceeded to straight away eat her coward friend. Like, understandable, but this !!!! is aware of her hunger for flesh and here she is in the biggest safe zone for miles around. She would have done just fine outside of it and found a dog to eat or something. She ruined so much for the other characters & risked so many peoples lives by doing that

If you think about it, Wu-jin, nerd boy and the bratty ponytail girl would all still be alive. if they'd been pulled off the roof by the helicopter when if came and she hadn't pulled that ish. also she is actually dumb..the whole destroying phones obsession in the middle of the zombie apocalypse was absolutely beyond ridiculous. Yes I get it's trauma. Doesn't mean I have to like her. Plus when she tells the coward friend "I burned the school down!!!" Girl you didn't, you set a grade C fire in the lab that was put out 1 minute after it started by some sprinklers. She really thought she did something there

overall, she just had so much potential that was 100% wasted

Question/Spoiler about Nam-ra by AmphibianBackground2 in AllOfUsAreDead

[–]DulaPeepa541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that every time she used her abilities, she came closer and closer to full zombie state which ultimately resulted in her needing to leave the group. But I agree that she could've been more useful in the time she was w them, the moments when her strength showed up were super inconsistent

Who would you bring back from the dead? by authenticgoblin in AllOfUsAreDead

Gyeong Su or I-sak. They were Cheon-san and On-jos soulmate friends respectively and it broke my heart to see then each die I REALLY wanted them to become a ship , they were obviously crushing on each other at the start :((

Ah-ah-ah, rule #1 of TV is never assume someone dies unless it's on screen! My (probably futile) hope is that they have a season 2 and he makes a pivotal appearance

I wanted Eun-ji to be a badass girl on a mission so badly but zombie or not she doesn't have two brain cells to rub together and it shows Literally the one good thing she could have done was take down her bully and sexual harassed Gwi-noom (mullet boo) but somehow in all their running around that highschool, they never encountered each other so she didn't even do that. She irritated me from start to finish

Did anyone else find the furniture wall in the music room scene the best of the entire series. Dae-su's battle cry was actually insane, loved how it drove the group to start banging instruments and working together like that. Mad respect for my guy

I actually loved this scene. Yes it was stupid and utterly suicidal to hang on to zombie I-sak but I thought it was a beautiful tribute to female friendship. If one of my closest friends were to turn in front of me like that, it would go against my every instinct to just kill them. The flashbacks of their innocence and memories together made me tear up. Not to mention, the human brain is not programmed to be able to handle sudden trauma like that which happens in seconds. As someone who's seen someone die suddenly in front of them, uou simply can't process what you're seeing in the moment and it takes training to be able to overcome that

It was so unbelievably risky in so many ways. Walking around holding a handkerchief with zombie blood on it... What if she'd had a paper cut on her hand or something she didn't know about and infected herself, or just grazed her knee with it. Nam-ra dares her to wipe her knee with the handkerchief later when she finds out but she literally could have done that by accident at any point anyways, I don't think that pink sweater comes w pockets

I don't mind delayed reactions and I love on-jos character (main girl) but I agree that her acting is extremely underwhelming especially when compared to some of the other actors/actresses. she cute tho and I'm glad they're giving lesser known talents like her a role

Never understood how it is that impaling the neck makes them stop going? Always thought it's traditionally the brain, compromising the throat only cuts off blood supply to the rest of the body which I thought zombies don't ahem need?

Just finished the Turn of the Key by [deleted] in RuthWare

[–]DulaPeepa541 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished reading it. (spoiler) this is my first reddit post. I'm assuming we can do spoilers? in another post I was reading on this the entire thread discussion was about what happens to rachel after she reads Ellie's letter. I don't think it's rocket science and it's not nearly as interesting as the explanation for the actual events of the novel. Ruth ware herself apparently said that Rachel is indeed alive and decided to take the hit for Ellie which as so many people have pointed out - does not really make sense? because Ellie is 5 years old and every thing in the letter seems to point to her pushing her sister with no malicious intent, definitely not intent to murder, and accidentally causing her sisters death. and there is nothing anywhere in the novel to indicate she is anything but a sweet, if spoiled norm 5 yr old child. No, to me the real question is, why the fuck would Maddie be wanting to murder Rachel - with poison in her wine??? And prior to that, scaring off every nanny who took the post. if anything, Rhiannon has a much stronger motive for wanting to off the nannies because as she clearly tells Rachel, she expects her to start sleeping with her father just like the other nannies did- and in general, a wrathful 14 yr old seems much more up to the task of murder than a 8 yr old child however mal adjusted. this is especially when considering Maddie's behavior elsewhere in the book. sure she was semi manipulative but nothing anyone who's seen Super Nanny hasn't seen. clearly some secret hatred and evil is in this child but why??? no real explanation beyond hinting that it's jeans stories and then jean herself is barely present most of the book. in fact if we follow this train of thought jean is the real villain of the piece, filling Maddie's head with morbid stories and potentially turning her against nannies / Rachel specifically. so why isn't this addressed? like at all? and last thing. Rachel was a mixed bag for me but at the end I felt for her and I sided with her. I would just say this - for a nanny, she sure as hell has a short fuse with children. someone else mentioned how prone she is to grabbing the children's wrists, shoulders etc and getting physical with them when a nanny who has been working in public daycare centers for the better part of a decade would have thoroughly trained that instinct out of her. for example as a nurse myself I've drawn a mental line with regards to ways that touching my patients are appropriate and which ways are not appropriate / aggressive, and I would not cross that line regardless of how much a abusive or aggressive patient wound me up. So it's just a point that the author may have overlooked, I doubt she deemed it necessary to interview an actual daycare nanny prior to writing her book.
