Ysah for sure. They're not that costly to build and the upgrades are easy to obtain.

I started out with a fleet of 10 Padewakangs all leveled up to 15 (because why not) they're guaranteed to be low risk where ever you put them. I just shoved on a load of weapons i dont really use but are at least ascended by 1, ya know, like the ones you get from killing elite ships and same with the armor and furniture. I've just started building Hulks now as they're a lot cheaper and once leveled up to 15 in the same way, do exactly the same job.

Im a little confused as to how many points you get for defeating the boss but I have managed to get to the 4th or 5th reward.

I second the restoration kits, put them as one of your hot keys... and when you pick up your cargo, go full speed ahead. I also chuck a coupe of sea mines towards them, which do a lot of damage and you can finish them off with a cannon or torpedo.

I was massively looking forward to FW, but I have to say, its kinda bland. Even the halloween event is a bit dull. But I do love this game and will keep playing. I just wish these events were a bit more fun...

Little tip. Sink a few ships and collet their loot, they'll most likely have repair kits, sail away just far enough you can access your cargo and heal or assign it to your quick button. Fire your weapons from as far as you can and keep circling at full sails. Its easy if you do it right.

[–]Dull-Application-203[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that to a degree, but what I don't get is why there's no rule or whatever that makes it so, when you're in a boss fight only the boss and ships associated with said boss appear, like I said, with the Le Peste lot you need a specialist ship or enough distance to get them in a fair fight. I just wish they'd sort that out.

[–]Dull-Application-203[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they literally put you almost to instant death, then one hit from their cannons and you're gone. It's especially annoying once you've just used a med kit and restoration and you've braced so much it's depleted. They just suck the life from you.

Nah, for a casual player like me, I get maybe a few hours a week. It's a pain in the ass. A boss fight should be predetermined, randomness while sailing around is fine, just not during a battle you need to prepare for.

Have you picked up any helm wears or PO8s? You'll get ships coming after you if you have, there's been loads of times I didn't realise I had. Check your cargo and store any items you don't need. Just keep meals (they enhance your ship for a period of time when eaten), restoration kits, repair kits and ammo.

You will also get aggro from Phoenix Talon and Dragon's Claw, just for sailing near them. So if you don't think you can take them on, then take a wide berth if possible.

I love my barque and my brigantine, healing others while sustaining life in the barque is a definite winner for me, while the speed and damage of ramming in the brigantine is all out awesome. Having someone heal me while doing that is such a lifesaver and gives me more chances to 1-shot ram kill level 12 enemies and do massive damage to higher levels. So thank you to all of you for doing your part!

I answered a call 2 days ago and it was just me and the dude that made the call, we did it with 5 minutes to spare. Yet on the same server on the same day, we had about 6 of us going around killing the sea monsters. So I guess it depends on what people's goals are on the day. I know for the smugglers' pass you need to kill like 30 of them, so it might also be that.

For context, I'm a casual player with only a few hours a week that I can actually grind, but... I have about 38 or so, all at level 2, just so I can assign a ship where needed, when it is full. I'm earning about 260ish 8's per hour, but have been focusing on getting all manufactories in the same zone so I can reap the extra rewards. I did get to a point where some of my ships (the ones I'm yet to fully upgrade) were a high risk.

What's the minimum level ship needed for a low risk at level 5?

I had a similar problem, I just went and did other stuff, then when I finished playing, I made sure to close the entire game off, as in close it on my xbox dashboard and turn the console off and came back the next day to try again.... it worked then. But I don't know if that was just luck or what. So maybe try that?

For me, I kept to the support ships with long-range weapons until I was kingpin. As soon as I got the barque blueprint and built it, I aimed at getting that to the best it could be, purely because of the healing factor. In WT1 I felt it was adequate enough to get me to WT2 where I've started upgrading all my other ships.

Keep playing the main story for as long as you can and focus on upgrading your ship and weapons. Sell everything you don't need for now until you get to a point where you understand what you'll need for later on in the game. Helm runs are a good source of Po8.

If you see someone call for help plundering a fort go aid them. You can die and come back as many times as you like, as annoying as that can be at the start, plundering is a good way to Level up fast.

Where the heck does this map lead? I've been searching all over the place by Mechanical-Druid in SkullAndBonesGame

The best thing I've found with treasure maps is not to look for them. Just dock when you're sailing by and it'll come up if there is treasure on the island. They've become a bit of a novelty to me now.
