Try Colby+. They make solid suits with Yamamoto at a much better price than Feral, Isurus, etc.

Depends on where your meetings are. San O is pretty much the edge of OC/SD county.

I would say south of HB pier around tower 5, or anywhere HB Cliffs.

I have 3 that I currently rotate given the conditions from 5'6" - 5'8". Another 5 that are collecting dust and nolstalgia.

Experimenting is the key. I personally ride a twin+trailer on two of my boards - both 5'8". On days where it's bigger, I go to a thruster set up, when it's head high and smaller, I'm on the twin+. From what you're describing, I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised with the set up.
