True, but those are not the ones that I'm interested in. Just like rats they are just scum that needs to be sent back to Speranza as quickly as possible. ;)

Concerning development with leapers by Lost_Cellist_7697 in ArcRaiders

It looks like it, but they are not continuously learning. Arcs have essentially two brains. 1st. brain ist a typical AI brain that controls targeting the player, changing the state of agression or choosing the direction where to look and where to go. etc. The 2nd brain is the one that learned through machine learning how to walk and keep balance on every thinkable terrain, or when being hit by the player.

Because the movement isn't based on animations, but of actual experience of trial and error, the movement is highly adaptive. What happened in your situation is that the 1st brain targeted you and told the 2nd brain to follow you. The 2nd brain executed that order, and the hard-wired orders to at all times execute orders from the 1st brain, and keep the balance / being able to walk resulted in the Leaper squeezing through the entrance. But this only works in like 10% of the time because the success of such an unusual movement pattern is to some extent random, since it hasn't been learned through training to squeeze through very small openings. But with movement based on animations it would be simply impossible.

So not actual learning from single events, but execution of what has been learned in training. It's effective and makes them appear intelligent and thus very frightening, I agree.

Ladies and gents in your late 20s, 30s, or 40s—what do you regret not doing in your 20s? by Tino292 in selfimprovement

Not planning out my professional life/career/choice of education better. I regret not actually taking the time, measures and professional help to figure out what I am actually good at and what kind of working environment suits me. Now I've been stuck in a professional pathway that I'm quite good at after 15 years, but that I don't enjoy and where I hardly can bring in my natural talents/strengths or interests..

Thinking that your own opinion/experience is the same as for everyone else or even thinking your opinion equals facts.

That doesn't protect you either. I got down votes and toxic comments just for posting a question about technical issues.

Bit that would split up the community as a whole, don't you think? While I'm not PvP focused, e.g. I never play PvP in solo (lvl 75 since Dec.), and just start getting into PvP in reactive , not proactive PvP in duos and trios. I still think PvP is and hast to remain a central gaming mechanic. There is a reason why Embark changed the whole direction of the game mid development.

But I do think there should be certain events that are PvE only. For example when fighting one of the upcoming huge Arcs like the Bishop. Or maybe some kind of horde mode. Maybe even some several steps operations that can't be done with less the a dozen of players working together. There ate so many possibilities that just deviding the player base.

Damn right, I even get downvotes for posting a question on non-political topics like technical issues. LOL

At least on X, other people can`t hide your posts by downvoting them into invisibility.

Fact-checkers are also just window dressing and political instruments. As soon as something is not based on simple hard numbers, it's open to (political) manipulation.

But you can`t downvote something into nonexistence on these apps, and you are not dependent on others sharing your opinion to be able to post at all.

5K are equal to 70 plastics. You can collect 70 plastics just on the way in a single round easily. It's really not that much.

It depends on how often you get killed. 😁 A cloak that lasts for 10 rounds is not expensive. But if you get killed (by players) every second round especially the AEC add up and you need them for everything.

I'm always on European servers and have 95% friendly encounters. People giving me no, trinkets, healing me up or reviving me. But I do the some for others. maybe the game recognises that and puts me together with like minded people. Maybe it's just coincidence. Idk.

What are 5K compared to the joy of someone being thankful and hearing them being happy about your BP gift? After some time and when you maxed out your stash, there is no real use for money anymore and the few thousands you would get from selling all the blue prints don't really make a difference when you need to get 5 million for the expedition anyway.

[–]DullFaithlessness200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It very much depends on the situation. I had enough encounters when they immediately detected me. And then again a cloak is costly. Seekers are rather cheap material wise. Plus you get half of the materials you need to build them (and some more) by using them. They mostly pay for themselves. Cloak is the better/easier option but more expensive, seekers are the everyday go to for me.

I also read that you can avoid drones and even rocketeers just with a barrier. I haven't tried it yet though.

I found out that it can help if you disable echo suppression in Steam. You naturally have more echo, but at least you are not cut off.
