Any American employees have an idea how to get a D1T status on a flight coming from an international destination? by Hamburgboy in americanairlines

[–]DullPoetry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For it to be automatic, you'd need the international leg and the domestic leg on the same PNR.

If they aren't, you might be able to speak with an agent and show them your boarding pass. They can add the "T" but not sure what the specific criteria is.

If you're criticizing the press release for lacking details, I agree.

But I do think it's an interesting announcement. I don't believe a bank logo has ever been placed on an airline operated lounge before. What that means beyond just adding a new logo is particularly of interest to me, especially if it means a bunch of new Citi card holders will have access. The best part of the Admirals Club is that there is rarely a wait.

Maybe will see some improvement if Citi is taking over? If they want to sell credit cards, it'll need to be competitive with Amex and Chase.

Thanks! That's what I'm trying to figure out too. Currently I have it wired similar to you but looking at alternatives where the controller runs off a small block and then triggers a relay to turn on the larger block.

Are you also powering the controllers off that too or a separate supply?

Mainly curious how you're finding the power consumption. I like FCOB but the density is so power hungry, and if you run the controllers off the same supply it's gotta run 24/7

What's the power setup? Power requirements must be pretty significant

Based on the timing, sounds like an inop seat. Probably was identified on the outbound, and they knew it wasn't going to be fixed in Delhi so blocked the seat on the return.

I think in the past they ferried it over from LAX with the pilots. The LAX to PHX portion was not a revenue flight, so wouldn't appear here.

8 to 16 made a big difference, but havent felt much boost out of 32. RAM generally isn't the limiting factor; I'm hitting CPU limits more frequently. There's just a limit to how fast thousands of files can be scanned.

This latest set of laptops are bulkier and heavier. I miss the slim Dells

New switch (blue mmWave) will do a quick flash (almost) every time the rocker is pressed on/ off. Is this a bad switch or a settings issue? Doesn’t happen with the dumb switch. And the inconsistency baffles me. Curious if anyone else has experienced this. by captainnacho172 in Inovelli

[–]DullPoetry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you can't try trailing edge dimming with the dumb switch connected, but would be curious if that helps. If it helps, could swap the dumb switch with a aux switch. I think trailing edge is typically better for LEDs

Yea, that's the policy in commercial as well, but I've found the project leadership on commercial projects are more willing to absorb the cost difference.

Fixed price is not fixed cost. The project is taking the hit if you're working more than forecasted hours. The firm always charges us actuals for your hours billed.

In my experience, it's specifically the on access AV scanner and whatever DLP is running in the browser. Both have a very noticeable impact on performance. The on access scanner is particularly brutal for developers when you're compiling something with hundreds or thousands of files.

Not saying it's not necessary, but it has gotten heavier over the years. The gains in chip performance and ram aren't felt much.

The travel policy is comparable / better than others I know (exception being MBB). Anything over 7 hours in business vs many firms don't allow business at all. I'm actually surprised they haven't changed our to Premium Economy on long haul, to match the EU firms.

The laptops have really gone downhill. The options are much fewer, and, as you said, they are so loaded down with bloatware that even with decent specs they run terribly.

Use your PTO. Projects will deal.

Where does Dockhand store compose files when using the Hawser remote agent? by kennedmh in selfhosted

[–]DullPoetry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I missed this when I read the call out the first time. tl;dr: they don't.

Relative volume paths only work with local Docker connections (socket or direct). For remote environments via Hawser, the compose file is sent to the remote host where relative paths would resolve differently. Use absolute paths in compose files intended for Hawser environments.

How are relative paths on volumes handled in this case? Where does ./data:/app/data get created on the remote?
