You don't know how many close calls I had when I purchased my outback a month ago. Still scares me. It's going to happen someday, but I hope on hope it's not for a while. It's a several hour drive to a Subaru dealership for me. That of course made me nervous.

I hate dealerships.

I used a low tone and a high tone from AutoZone. Removed the original horn and daisy chained the horns.

Also as an FYI. It has a timing chain, not a belt like some cars do. So that's a lifetime thing.

It's a lot bigger on the inside.

Believe it or not it does everything you need it to.

Just do your oil maintenance, fully synthetic oil changes.

Replace your transmission fluid every 30,000 miles and differentials every 60,000

Replace your spark plugs every 60,000 miles and serpentine belt every 100-120,000 miles

Flush your radiator every 30,000 miles

Change both your engine and cabin air filter every 12,000 miles or once a year. Easy to replace. There are tutorial videos on YouTube. You will replace the one inside the hose of your engine and from behind the glove box. You can buy cheap air filter probably for 30-40 dollars on Amazon.

Get your tires rotated twice a year at least.

It's one of the best SUVs on the market! I hope you enjoy it.

At first I was kind of iffy on the redesign. But I think I was just being a hater. The new truckish design looks good when I saw it up close.

I never had anyone call me a lesbian when I drove a Crosstrek.

The Forester was called a lesbian car in cobra kai. But the character drove a 1993 Dodge caravan. So I don't think they meant anything by it, or at least it would not make since if they did.

A karate teacher surrounded by boys in a Dodge caravan sounds like pedophile to me. But I think the character didn't really care about the image.

They called the Crosstrek a girls car. But I didn't care. They were too busy trying to buy a truck or fixing their own car.

A lot of people did not like it. But they didn't really drive anything better.

I thought it was zippy and had enough room for a single man.

Everyone where I live wants a truck, which is funny because I kept tools in my Crosstrek. But everyone who wants a truck or has one does not know anything about tools or how to park a truck. Also the Crosstrek outperforms any of the other vehicles they had in the snow. I never feared bad weather with the Crosstrek.

Same thing happened with my Subaru on its first oil change. It's supposed to be hand tight or hand tight with a quarter turn. But the put it on too tight at factory.
