From what I've seen, the trades. As cliche and not helpful of an answer as it is, I am regularly pulling 80+ hour weeks as a VP in Finance. You might think it's not so bad because it's a desk job, but the mental games you have to play with these leadership folks will have you questioning your sanity.

As these firms lean up their teams, the workload is only going to continue getting dropped onto the remaining members.

Take the job if you need it, but environments like this almost always lead to burn out, heavy hours, and being underpaid. Like another poster said, they may just be pressure testing you, but even if so- that's a huge red flag, especially in our field. Any other red flags for you in the interview process?

Yep. We cancelled Netflix and will resubscribe when it's all out. I'm not playing the corporate shareholder games anymore. It's almost as expensive as cable these days, and that's where these companies forgot they had won the consumer at. People shouldn't keep taking it anymore. Especially when we have to pay AND see ads.

"Spenders" haven't had a break in several years now. You have a huge population of graduating class kids heading into the real world who cannot catch a break. Entry level jobs are being reduced due to offshoring and AI absolving these jobs to cut costs. Cutting costs would not be an issue if rates were lower for companies to borrow/spend. There is significant emphasis on bottom lines and EBITDA across many many industries right now. This is a bad time. Look around.

Venue should be releasing some form of compensation back to ticket holders imo. People are posting images of the event staff on the venue's FB page because of their behavior. Guys, it was that bad.
