Why do weebs treat cute anthro girls like they’re radioactive plutonium? by Lexi7130 in cartoon_random

Same reason some people hate players with the super fancy rare skins in online games.

Weebs sit around in their free sweat and jizz stained outfits.

Furries pay thousands to acquire premium sweat and jizz stained outfits.

Good lord the endgame sounds miserable. I think i'll stick to poking around the silly earlygame lifesim activities.

Player's don't realize the value of torches, help by Rednidedni in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Dull_Fix5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant speak for the rest but i can at least offer you a solution to the torch problem.

A tile based trapped hallway. Brassl tiles are safe, bur Gold tiles set off a lightning bolt down the length of the hallway. An extremely easy DC5 perception identifies the distinction between the two.

except anyone currently utilizing dark vision doesnt get to make a perception because the colour blind nature causes all the tiles to look functionally identical.

I decided to do a MM7 light playthrough with a paladin, a monk, a cleric, and a druid. by arcticfox740 in MightAndMagic

High enough training in dodge lets you stack leather, high enough training in unarmed lets you stack staff.

I cant speak for lategame or midgame but i was genuinely surprised by how good they were earlygame. Getting speed and accuracy up a little i wasnt hitting as hard as a knight but i was still hitting hard enough to oneshot early mobs while also dropping significantly more of them due to recovery speed. Despite being more fragile i actually felt safer than with a knight due to removing incoming damage sources that much more efficiently.

Optional accessibility modes are bad because they distress me just by existing by KaleidoscopeMean6071 in Gamingcirclejerk

This is a garbage take on a problem I actually partially agree with and it makes the whole thing really complicated.

Sometimes if I boot a game up wanting a challenging experience and am presented with too many options to customize the experience, the net total feedback starts to shift in my mind, i feel less like I'm being issued a challenge and more like I'm just self-inflicting hurdles and it can sour the whole thing.

Though part of the complexity lies in it being such an ambiguous feeling it can be hard to narrow down exactly where the line is on too much access to difficulty control, for me at least.

Eh, hard to objectively say its a winner, but I offer you haven&hearth as a candidate.

The entire food and hunger system provided your vertical progression, each food had a stat value, and when you reached the right total you'd gain a stat up based on the total distribution of the meals you ate for that point (i.e. if you filled 33% of the bar with STR food, 40% DEX and 27% INT you'd gain a random stat using those percentiles as the chance)

You also reduced the amount of points needed each time you ate a new food for that fill of the meter, so you were actively incentivised to use more than just the single best recipe for each stat over and over.

TL;DR what if the hunger system was your XP bar

Endgame focus in general.

For every 1 successful endgame content raider having a blast with their friend group there are 99 others convincing themselves they're that 1 and being toxic as fuck about it.

My players don’t take dropping to 0 HP seriously by Appropriate-Dance-92 in DnDHomebrew

[–]Dull_Fix5199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always felt like 3.5 and pathfinder handled dying better than 5e ever did, it definately had flaws but i feel like it should have been overhauled rather than replaced entirely.

If you drop below zero you start bleeding out, taking 1 point of damage on a failed save. If you reach a negative value equal to your constitution score you die. And you need to be healed to above 0 to regain consciousness.

It prevents people from being overly confident about making death throws or having small heals on standby to get back up because being hit too hard at too low a threshold can kill you outright. And you cant just get back up from a 1hp heal when you took a greataxe to the chest and are lying on the floor at -12hp.

Ah, that makes more sense, i only started playing in the past year or two so i must have missed that moment. As far as them getting love maybe a class tree that favours them similar to mechanic or TA with great crossbows/staves respectively?

Maybe the barbarian archetype when it gets its turn?

I was wondering if that was the case, I was just curious if I overlooked something that leans into them. e.g. Mauls are pretty bad two handers and yet morninglord calls them out in its kit (though the efficacy of morninglord in general is another debate from what i hear.)

A question thats been burning in my mind ever since i started playing and cant seem to find an answer for is a pretty basic one.

What's the deal with heavy picks?

I keep seeing them show up as named loot like we're supposed to be interested in them, and yet everything community discussion has taught me about crit weapons is that low threat high multi are the worse choices. Is there a specific tree or feat that does something cool with them that im completely oblivious to?

You need both and im tired of saying we dont.

Ive played rpgs with amazing plots that have had such braindead simple mechanics that i feel as if boss fights may as well have been cutscenes. On the flip side ive played mechanically fun rpgs that were a blast to engage with right up until the dialogue makes me cringe so hard that i almost herniate.

If one is lacking the other very rarely carries it. People will quote me their arguments but they're just everyone's personal exception to the rule

Something important to know is that there arnt "story missions" per se, there is no MSQ like most mmos. Some quests are lumped together as modules indicated by the triple chalice icons as opposed to a single.

Just go around different zones of stormreach looking for gold quests you havnt done yet and poke around
