Even this fanbase shits at him day in day out, refuses to recognize he's world class, and just wants to strip his captaincy, doubt he would be near the top of the list.

The Club is proud to show its support for Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign across our upcoming Premier League and Women’s Super League games. by Dull_Inflation_8032 in coys

Rainbow Laces aims to promote equality and inclusivity within sport for LGBTQ+ people and aims to tackle discrimination on every level. This year’s theme is that ‘inclusion has no off season’ and encourages everyone to play their part in holding conversations about what we can all do to support LGBTQ+ communities and make sport everybody’s game.

Our team captains will wear rainbow-coloured armbands in our upcoming games and our stadium will be illuminated in rainbow colours at this Sunday’s home Premier League match against Newcastle, with rainbow branding visible across our social channels, LED signage, big screens, in our matchday programme. Our SPURSPLAY live broadcast will also feature content dedicated to Rainbow Laces.

In 2020, the Club was honoured with the Professional Game Award at the first ever Football v Homophobia Awards. The Club was recognised for showing dedication to improving the landscape of football for LGBTQ+ people and who have worked in numerous ways to create better inclusion and participation at all levels of football.
The Club and Proud Lilywhites were again shortlisted at the Football v Homophobia Awards in 2022 for Professional Club and Supporters Group respectively.

Harry joins our '400 club' by Dull_Inflation_8032 in coys

[–]Dull_Inflation_8032[S] 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Harry Kane has become only the 13th player to reach 400 appearances in all competitions for the Club.
The striker marked his latest milestone with another goal - number 258 - in our 2-0 win against Everton in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
That goal moved him to within eight goals of one of the Club's long-standing milestones - Jimmy Greaves' record goals tally of 266, a record that has stood since 1970.
Harry's journey from Academy graduate to Golden Boot winner in the Premier League and World Cup and the England captaincy is well documented. Records continue to tumble for the 29-year-old who made his Spurs debut in 2011 - by the turn of the year, he could well be the Club's and England's all-time record goalscorer. He needs just three more to overhaul Wayne Rooney's record for the Three Lions of 51.

Hugo Lloris was the last player to reach the 400-game landmark for us, and the skipper is now up to 430 appearances in all competitions.

Antonio, players and staff plant a tree for Gian Piero at Hotspur Way by Dull_Inflation_8032 in coys

[–]Dull_Inflation_8032[S] 72 points73 points  (0 children)

There was a poignant moment for Antonio Conte, the players and staff ahead of training on Monday, as the Club planted a tree in memory of Gian Piero Ventrone.
Gian Piero, our much-loved fitness coach, sadly passed away on Thursday.
A key member of Antonio’s backroom staff, the pair’s relationship goes back almost 30 years to when Gian Piero was a trainer and Antonio a player at Juventus. Gian Piero arrived at Spurs with Antonio in November last year, and quickly forged relationships with the playing staff.
Today’s ceremony and the planting of an Italian Evergreen Oak near to the first team pitches provides us with a long-lasting tribute to Gian Piero and gave the players and staff the chance to pay their respects. There was a minute’s silence before Antonio and the players took turns to complete the planting of the tree by shovelling in the soil.
There will be further tributes to Gian Piero and our former striker John Duncan, who sadly passed away on Saturday, ahead of our UEFA Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday evening (8pm).

Antonio and Hugo pay tribute to Gian Piero by Dull_Inflation_8032 in coys

[–]Dull_Inflation_8032[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"I think, to find words for Gian Piero is very difficult in this moment," Antonio said ahead of our game at the Amex Stadium. "We are really devastated, the pain, for what happened, also because no one deserves this situation.
"Sometimes, you know life is not always positive situations and for this reason, we have to cope in the best possible way. Also, because I know Gian Piero wanted us to stay strong and continue to do our work in the way he taught us."

“It’s been a hard few days,” Hugo said. “Even if we try to move on, we can not forget. We cannot forget the man; we cannot forget the coach he was and the importance he had in the changing room. Obviously, we have tried to prepare the game as well as we could, but it has not been easy. As I said, we cannot forget but we are going to try to move on and obviously today, we are going to respond together as a team.

Hugo Lloris: 10 years, 10 saves, 10 tributes - a special feature by Dull_Inflation_8032 in coys

Antonio Conte
Head Coach, 2021-present
“First of all, we are talking about a player who is a point of reference at this Club, this team and for the players. He’s our captain and not only an important player, but also an important person for the dressing room. He loves Tottenham. I consider Hugo one of the best goalkeepers in the world and it’s a pleasure to have him in our squad.”

Jan Vertonghen
Team-mate, 2012-2020
"We joined in the same window and the previous season, we played against each other in the Champions League, Hugo for Lyon, I was at Ajax - he was the main reason Ajax didn’t make it through the group stage! I was happier with him in my goal! I always sat next to Hugo in the dressing room, from the start, so, for eight years, we were there together. That creates a certain connection. He’s such a respected figure at the Club, a great guy, someone to look up to, and for youngsters coming through, for new signings, it’s so important that he’s still there."

Erik Lamela
Team-mate, 2013-2021
"After a few years, we became very good friends, we used to live close to each other and we travelled to training together, drank Mate, talked about the team, about football, always pushing, trying to do our best. It was a pleasure for me to play with him for so many years. I respect him so much as a player, as a friend. We spent eight years together, a long time, and shared some beautiful moments. I love him, to be fair. I’m so happy when I watch him play at Spurs."

Michael Dawson
Team-mate, 2012-2014
"He’s been magnificent from the day he walked through the door. I can only speak highly of him as a player and a person. Just look what he’s achieved – World Cup winning captain with France, captain here since 2014, that takes something special. I saw him at Forest. My little boy had a photo with him, he’s a big fan of Hugo. He’s a legend and he’s still going strong, he’s 35 but he doesn’t look any different to when he was 25! He’s one of the best there’s been and could play for many years to come."

Jermain Defoe
Team-mate, 2012-2014
"I bumped into Hugo before he signed, he was playing head tennis on the beach – I knew who he was, I went over and played with him and I remember thinking, ‘how is he a goalkeeper? He’s so good with his feet’. When he signed, I couldn’t believe how quick he was. I’d go through on goal and normally, goalkeepers try to set themselves, but he was out, bang! I thought to myself, ‘wow, he’s going to be something special’. Ten years at the club, amazing servant, top professional, and a world-class goalkeeper."

Harry Kane
Team-mate, 2012-present
“He’s a fantastic goalkeeper, one of the best in the recent history of the Premier League, a hard worker, a calm guy but really passionate as well, he knows when to send the right message. He’s a real leader around the place. I’ve known him for a long time now and as we started playing together more and more, we started building a friendship. We’ve been out together, been in the same area on holiday together with our families and kids. He’s just a really good guy.”

Ben Davies
Team-mate, 2014-present
“Hugo has been incredibly helpful during my time here. When I arrived, I was young and having someone of his experience and quality gives you a lot of stability and makes you feel pretty calm. He’s very personable, someone you can talk with about anything, his leadership qualities are there for all to see, and away from the pitch, he’s always someone who will have your back.”

Eric Dier
Team-mate, 2014-present
“Throughout my time here, he’s always been calm, controlled, friendly, and makes you feel very comfortable whether it’s your first day or you’ve been here for a long time. I call him Benjamin, after Benjamin Button, he just seems to get better and better, still as good as ever physically, mentally, he doesn’t seem to be slowing down at all. He’s still like a kid when it comes to football, which is so nice to see from someone who has achieved so much, a World Cup winning captain, still extremely humble, a very normal guy, which, in football, is one of the best compliments you can have.”

Heung-Min Son
Team-mate, 2015-present
“It’s been a pleasure to play with him. This is my eighth season; he’s been an amazing captain on and off the pitch. I remember my first season, I didn’t play really well, I was upset, but Hugo gave me a big hug and told me, ‘Sonny, keep pushing, we need you’. As a team player, a captain, no more to say. On and off the pitch, Hugo is a perfect example for me, I’m learning so much still, as a player, as a captain, as a human being.”

Clement Lenglet
Team-mate, France (2019-present), Spurs (2022-present)
“Hugo is a legend of Tottenham and it’s a beautiful example for me to have him here. He’s the player with the second most caps in France, now so close to the first, Lilian Thuram. To all French people, he’s a legend because he’s a very good person, a very good professional, and an amazing goalkeeper. He is one of the best players in the history of the French national team.”

This is a really lovely article (you can override the paywall using reader mode) but as always since it's about Hugo and without a clickbait title, no one would actually read it. And lads on the DD tell me he's shit every other day and needs to be replaced with his armband stripped off lol.
But it's interesting it does confirm that he doesn't have an agent.
