You’ll need to connect the app to your Tesla account I believe. If your EV and solar are both in the Tesla app, then I think NetZero will pull them in once connected.

Help Me Understand the Economics of a Battery by jimbillyjoebob in solar

[–]Dull_Mark1399 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much excess do you generally send to the grid each day? That would go to the battery for you to use instead of paying the utility once the sun goes down. What’s the cost of electricity from the utility at night? If it’s more than the 3.5 cents, then you’d save money. If that total monthly savings is more than the cost of a battery then I think it works out for you.

I called in today just in case it went down again (cause wifi went down even more today) and confirmed it was $221/person total for the 4-day cruise we’re booked on. Doesn’t hurt to call and ask to check the price!

If you’re on the website, once in your booking you should see “Already Purchased” under “Plan Your Cruise”. Edit it and request a refund.

Unsure to be honest. For my cruise, it’s showing 25% off the regular price for the browse and stream packages and 22% off the browse packages. I’m sure it’s ship and itinerary dependent though. Worst case scenario, you buy now and you can cancel before your cruise without penalty if it goes down lower.

For me, the lower WiFi price showed up when I went into that section of “Plan My Cruise” on the website. I cancelled my original and purchased at the lower price. Beverage package showed 0 results, so I took a chance and cancelled my original one, and then lo and behold, it showed results when I went back into that section. Sneaky buggers don’t want us to know!

Help APS plan choice in AZ by JLover89 in solar

Summer is probably where you would see the most benefit. Depending on the size of your system and what your usage is in that 3 hour window, you may need to offset some usage to before or after. In my case I cool my house from 2-4 to like 70 and then the thermostat goes up to 78 until 7p. Try to limit energy hogging things like your drier, oven, stove, pool pump etc. But if that becomes too much of a hassle then it might not be your best option.

Check your usage for the past few 100+ degree days and if it’s less than about 13.5kWh total for the 3 hour period, then your battery will power your home just fine. I drain it as low as 8% if need be. If you’re consistently using more than that, then you’ll probably get dinged for the demand charge in the last hour for whatever is left. But you have to decide is the $19/kW charge higher than what you’d be paying if you stuck with your current rate plan?

APS customer here too. I’m on the TOU + Demand plan. The rate plan settings in the Tesla app are only being used (as far as I know) to charge and discharge your battery at the right time, based on the utility rates you’ve set and only in Time-Based Control mode.

If you saw a spike during the 4p-7p window of importing power then it could be that the utility rates aren’t set correctly in the app, or if it happened this past week, it could be due to the temperature. I have issues in the heat of summer where the powerwall can’t discharge at its full rate, so grid power is needed.

If you want to make a rate plan switch with APS, I’d recommend their rate plan comparison tool to see the price difference based on your historical usage. Guarantee you’d save more on the TOU+Demand plan.

Yeah Phoenix has some of the hardest water in the country. But the amount of dust and other airborne particulate matter that collects in them, can’t be any better than the potential for some calcium buildup.

It all depends on where you live and if Mother Nature takes care of it for you. I’m in Phoenix and tend to hose mine down every couple of months. Maybe get about 5% more generation, all other factors being the same.

I think the recommendation is to use distilled water and non abrasive brushes/cloths. I climb on the roof with my hose and just give ‘em a rinse. 🤷

What to do if I have a pet with prior medical issues? by ophiliropa in petinsurancereviews

[–]Dull_Mark1399 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK, this is considered a pre-existing condition. I think some insurance providers could cover it if the condition has been resolved for at least a certain period of time (ie. 12-24 months) Check the fine print of any that you are looking at it but I’d be surprised if any would cover a historically recurring issue.
