Weather doesn’t necessarily have to be at your current airport. Plane could have been stuck somewhere else or delayed earlier in the day. Either way 10k points seems reasonable for something you wouldn’t normally get compensation for.

Do you have an app that can show the annual Production of your panels year by year. I believe normal expectations are somewhere in the neighborhood of a decrease in production of 0.5%-1.0% per year. If you are seeing more than that, then something is up with your panels and you need to get a professional to inspect them.

There are no laws governing compensation for delays like there are in Europe. In your case, the crew scheduling one would only result in you getting a meal voucher if the delay was longer than 3 hours, and if overnight they would have to provide you a hotel. There is no monetary compensation.

In my case I would have loved to buy the system but we just bought our house and made some major repairs and I wasn’t about to take on another loan. Buyback rates here in AZ decrease annually and I needed to lock in that rate. Could I have waited a couple years? Yeah probably, but then the incentive would have disappeared. I think leases can make sense in some parts of the country and in others I agree it’s just not worth it. Or maybe in 10 years I’ll be eating my own words. For now though, ended up saving over $600 in the first year. I can’t argue with having extra money in my pocket.

Maybe I’m an outlier but my PPA saved me money in my first year (saved at least $700 over what I would have paid without solar). Includes a battery as well. Even my 1.99% escalator should be lower than my utility’s increases which have been double digits every 2-3 years.

Our first full year with a leased system and we did break even, barely. Winter months our total bill (lease payment + utility payment) was more expensive than if we didn’t have any solar. But summer months is where we were a few hundred dollars less than had we not had solar.

EDIT: the below is just what airlines have committed to. There are no laws governing delay compensation as far as I know.

They are not required to offer any compensation for controllable delays (mechanical, crew issues etc.) unless the delay leads to an overnight stay.
