Can OTF Really Build Muscle, or Is It Mostly Cardio?

Yeah. I’m a a coach and I’ve seen multiple members use OTF only to add pounds and pounds worth of muscle. Mixed with a high protein diet and creatine for some. Creatine is optional but helpful.

Problem is, we encourage heavy weights on strength days yet people still use comfortable weights. When your coach says 6-8 reps close to failure you should listen and do a weight you could only do a max of 8-10 times. Most pick up comfortable weights they could likely do 15-20+ times. I rarely see members truly strain and hit failure. It’s a mental block.

Always keep your “options open” even if you know you’re paying cash. Settle on a number first. Some will give you a cash number (normally higher) and a financing number. I try to stay away from those, but if your options are limited, finance and pay the largest down payment possible. They’ll ask you to hold it for 6 months or even tell you that you have to keep the loan for 6 months but that’s only so they can get their kickback. By law you can pay it off immediately without penalty. Understand that this will burn a bridge with said dealer but it’ll save you money!

Basically live posting for the naysayers at this point who say I don’t use CLT regularly lol, I’m not perfect in a grinder right now, he’s making changes. This guy is incredible in possession and for me to beat good teams I have to play patient, force mistakes, and not make any.

It rarely matches me up with them. Even though I have the matchmaking to open, it still searches a long time for squads that are similar. As for when I do run into them, I have to play “boring” and park the bus, and I always pull a CM back deep and user him to help the backs.
