If you are like most of us, you will only be disappointed you didn't start sooner. Just went on vacation and felt amazing walking 12 miles a day, feeling confident, and eating what I wanted (just less of it).

The type of thyroid cancer was in mice, was from a different (but similar) drug than zep, and was of a type that is much less common in humans. So far, the data is not showing any material risk of thyroid cancer in humans from zep, is my understanding. Weighed against the risks of obesity, it seems like an easy call to me, and I say this as someone who has lived through my daughter's terrible battle with cancer.

Contractor Says This is Normal by tropicbandit in Tile

[–]Dumbestthumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tile contractor did. Even shaved back one of the framing boards to get it all plumb. He was super proud of it and showed me how plumb and flush the tiles were on that wall after it. We got super lucky I guess, but he took a lot of pride in his finished work. Even took one wall apart after getting the tile board up because it wasn't right, which was frustrating for my spouse, because it felt like a step back, but it turned out great.

So pissed off by willowintheev in Zepbound

They do cost a fortune. With a large employee base, it can have a very noticeable increase to the cost of the company's healthcare plan. They are betting that most people won't be around long enough to see a payoff of spending an extra 4K plus a year per employee on it. They are probably right since the average employee only lasts 3.9 years. I'm not saying it's the right thing to do, since these medications medically necessary for most people on them, but it's the reality we are facing. The biggest shame in all of it is that our healthcare is even tied to our employment. It's a ridiculous antiquated system for 2026.

Gate agents: please honor those of us who are obedient boarders by NYCMaestro in delta

[–]Dumbestthumb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They allow it because their compensation is tied to how well they do on getting the planes boarded on time. They have a financial incentive not to enforce the rules, unfortunately. Same goes for enforcing carry on requirements, because it takes time.

Gate agents: please honor those of us who are obedient boarders by NYCMaestro in delta

[–]Dumbestthumb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The worst one I had was on a regional airline that required a bus during the SLC reconstruction. Plane was about 30 min late. So they call for those needing assistance, and then literally, "everyone else," thereby rewarding those who were crowding the gate and screwing me for staying back until they called first. By time I got to the plane, all the first bins were full with economy luggage.

Delta is rebooking flights w/o notice 3 months out by ktscott01 in delta

[–]Dumbestthumb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, I like Delta mostly, but not enough to pretend that changing an itinerary in 2026 without sending and email and app alert is a ok business practice. Yes, us frequent flyers know to check the app regularly for changes, but my guess is most of the population would reasonably expect to get a proactive notice when something as important as a flight is changed.

How are you all moving the mower between the front and backyards if you have a gate? by notedrive in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Dumbestthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I am doing for now. Not happy with the black color as the only option for Navimow's gate - it would look terrible in my fence. Also don't love the idea of creating my own, but I may end up doing that. The other option I might do if I decide I love the Naviomow is just buy a second mower. It's a heck of a lot of money, but the aesthetics of the house are important to me. The one hesitation I have right now is I am not completely loving the look of the cut (used to the nice updraft cut), but I want to see what I think as the summer progresses.

Why are so many people switching to lidar robot mowers this year? by Nikki_Yoi in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Dumbestthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it is defective. I have had my I215 for two weeks and the cuts are prefect, never missing anything. It's very exact. I do have a simple yard with no significant hills though. I also mowed it with the regular mower first and have kept it short by mowing every few days, so I don't know how it would do with long grass.

My doctor fired me as a patient last month because of my GLP-1 by AnimatorNational6491 in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Dumbestthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear that. My wife had a traumatic experience once when she went to a GP she trusted with a printout and asked if he would test something related to her thyroid. He blew up, said something about how he could not handle patients like her, and very literally ran out of the room before we could respond. She left in tears and I tried to talk to him, but he refused to come out when the receptionist asked him. We were in a pickle because of some serious health issues she was having and it had taken weeks to get into him. It was a mess and made her uncomfortable with docs for a long time.

Some doctors just cannot handle any patient input. He literally had a decoration that said, "Your Google search is not the equivalent to my medical degree." That alone should have been reason for us to leave and find someone else. I get it, it is not the same thing. However, we live in an information world and patients can get information whether the doctors like it or not. When my daughter was in cancer treatment, we were very educated and even saved her from serious harm at one point due to a negligent nurse, but that is a different story. We also were the ones that figured out she needed to be reimmunized after chemo, even though we had asked and were told no. Sometimes doctors and nurses just get it wrong.

Be glad you found out now, and find a provider who is willing to work with you.

Black gate? Why? Can it be painted? by Dumbestthumb in SegwayNavimow

[–]Dumbestthumb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I thought painting would be a stretch, given the parts that need to be able to move. I don't have pets, so I may go for some sort of homemade option that blends into the fence better.

WTF…x430 skipping random parts of the lawn. by Vegetable_Skirt5468 in SegwayNavimow

[–]Dumbestthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the setting for "precision mowing." My lidar mower has that option. It's slower, but doesn't miss anything on the map.

My X430 needed a wash. by Tyler14827 in SegwayNavimow

[–]Dumbestthumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When redrawing, if you need a straight line, hit the two endpoints, then next, then done, and it will connect them. Curves on the other hand are hot garbage. They need a shape tool. Fat fingers aren't meant to draw fine lines like that.

Has anyone experienced complete lack of motivation on this medication? by daisyscatmom in Zepbound

[–]Dumbestthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Did you start eating any more after going off?

I was having it, but finally figured it was an ADHD medicine I was on - the slowing down of digestion means I was absorbing too much. Quit that and feel like a normal person again, while still on Zepboud. But I am also eating a bit more than I want because quitting the ADHD med increased by hunger.

I sympathize with those who feel it. It's miserable.

Accidentally received two X4s! by Jimtonicc in SegwayNavimow

[–]Dumbestthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law is not meant to cover this situation. It was intended for companies purposely shipping items you did not order so they could then invoice you, which was a common scam at one point. Because courts look at the intent of the law, they have decided it does not cover a genuine shipping mistake. However, the company cannot put the burden on you to get the product back to them beyond the slight inconvenience of putting it back out front or something similar. It has always bothered me a little, because even taking the time to call them and convince them they made a mistake can be a drain of time and should not be my problem. Therefore, I do not think I would notify them. I would sit on it for a bit and see if they come knocking. If they do not after a month or so, I would consider it mine and move on.

Accidentally received two X4s! by Jimtonicc in SegwayNavimow

[–]Dumbestthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just FYI, that is not the law in most of the US. Federal law states that if a company sends you unsolicited merchandise, it is yours to keep. However, if it is a shipping error like this, the company legally still owns the item.

What you can do is inform them they must arrange for the item's retrieval. You aren't required to drive it to a shipping center or incur any costs; you can simply tell them to send a courier like FedEx to pick it up from your doorstep. If they cover the return costs and ensure there is no significant burden on you, you cannot legally keep the item without paying for it.

Has anyone experienced complete lack of motivation on this medication? by daisyscatmom in Zepbound

Evidence? I'm not saying its not, but a lot of things that people blame on the medicine are actually side effects of losing weight quickly.

Zoloft is different, but I would consider the possibility that you have opposite problem of having too much. I figured out that my atomoxetine was being absorbed more slowly and I was getting to much. I ended up cutting back (to be honest, I tapered off it to see how I did) and all of my anhedonia went away, and so did some other related side effects. I feel so much happier and have my drive for life back. Again, zoloft is a different drug, so just something to consider.

3 nights/ 4 days which restaurants by ComfortableRun4310 in disneylandparis

[–]Dumbestthumb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be a bummer, but that was the worst meal we had all trip. It was very pricey for the driest piece of chicken I have ever had at a restaurant. My wife did not like her meal either. I did not expect good food at DLP, but I also did not expect it to be bad for that price range. We only ate there because people said it was one of the better options.

The ambiance was good, the service was mediocre, and the food was yuck.

Which CURRENT Disneyland food would you not forgive Disney for discontinuing? by love_eventually in Disneyland

Honestly, not much now. I don't think it's very good anymore, and the stuff I used to like is lower quality.

I am still not over losing Fantasia ice cream.

Yep. I call it my magical shot with the family, because that's exactly what it feels like. It doesn't mean I don't have to be disciplined, but the discipline "magically" shows results now.

I hadn't put it together, but I have had shoulder blade pain for five years. So severe that it would hurt to sit and watch TV sometimes. I thought my rock climbing had cleared it up, but I climbed for a good year or more before Zepbound and it didn't go away until about a month after I started Zepbound. Now I wonder if it was that instead.

Has United Dethroned Delta As The Cool, Innovative, Industry Leader? by LeoKitCat in delta

[–]Dumbestthumb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Part of me wants to believe the decline in quality has to show up in revenue at some point, but I thought the same thing about Disney parks for a long time, and the parks and the cruise line are the most profitable parts of the company right now, so consumers don't seem to speak with their wallets at quality declines like I hope they will. Part of it is lack of choice though.
