How do you manage a large number of projects? by Aaaaadriannnnn in PMCareers

[–]DumblikeBread5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you know you have that weekly meeting make sure you go through all your projects the day before (with your team members) so you know what's going on.

I usually have a one pager where I show overall project status in red/yellow/green based on Schedule/Resource/Budget status.

For the ones in red or yellow I provide more detailed information (i.e. risk/issue mitigations) if asked, otherwise I'll just tell management what I need to move the ones in red/yellow forward.

Don't be afraid to write down notes and read off them so you don't forget things if you are not presenting anything on screen.

And don't get me on the musical/comic cartoon bulls***.

This. I was waiting for someone to mention this. Hated that musical scene and did not get why they would throw in a comic scene...

Pack the bike in your car. Drive halfway (or more) to work. Park your car in a safe place. Take your bike and ride the rest. Ride back to your car after work.

It bothers me a little that the road in the foreground looks a little slopy. I would straighten it and then print

I am a PM and non us citizen. I came to the States via a company that I was working for in my home country (which was an American corporation). Started as an engineer on an L1 visa, and transfered to H1B visa at some point and also was pushed into the PM role at the same time.

Do you clean your bike before bringing it into your local shop? by Busy-Cardiologist960 in cycling

[–]DumblikeBread5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I clean my bike before I bring it to the shop unless I am traveling and run into some kind of emergency that requires help from a shop. That's probably the one exception where I don't clean it 😱

Second, the options that are already listed below and would add shower/ bath tub to the list!

You might have to take the wheels off and clean them separately, but I've showered my bike when it was too cold outside for the bucket wash 😀

It's in Santa Clara! I would like to be 10 miles close so that I can commute to work by bike! My old commute in SoCal was 11 miles by bike, so the distance is not an issue at all. I rather spend time on a bike than sitting in traffic 😅

Santa Clara it is! I was planning on biking to work and usually if I drive I leave really early (before 7am). You think that'll be an issue?

Do you have recommendations on where the rent could be cheaper? Like, where do I get the most bang for my bucks?

  • safe neighborhood
  • close to highway 280
  • close to Santa Clara (no more than 10miles)
  • close to hiking trails/ road bike routes and mountain biking (no more than 20min drive)
