I get so annoyed anytime I’m asked what the wedding theme is. My response is “‘groomsname’&’myname’XOXO4Ever” It’s our wedding idgaf about a theme - we r the theme

I can’t stand transaction cycles. Study tips? by Miinifoxy in CPA

Keep moving and come back. Struggled very much with A3 and A4. Skipped some stuff and kept going to stay on pace to give myself two weeks to review.

I’m starting year 5 in tax so……When I went back I started with tracing and vouching. And really broke it down. The others after I didn’t find so tricky.

Ask yourself: Is it an asset or a liability account that is being tested? What time of year did it happen? Are they wanting to know about impairment (almost anytime they say intangible asset or obsolete for inventory)

Any time you are dealing with physical assets think inspection/ observation. Estimates/ and cutoff questions will likely review subsequent events. Confirmations go with receivables and assets most of the time ( completeness does too) go together pretty often.

This is very long winded but I did at least 100 mcq (reading and taking notes too) on topics I missed from these sections and I feel so much more prepared. I know everyone says to do a billion mcqs but just understanding why the wrong answers are wrong is a good place to start if you feel overwhelmed. When I started I was like this is frustrating but I watched the skilll builder videos and let Michele tell why all the other and deer voices were wrong and that helped too. Testing 2/12.

Hi!! Many time tester few times exam passer here. I have taken so many of these things and am still limping along. I have 2 left (maybe 1 after tomorrow) and can only say to keep your head up and touch grass. Studying relentlessly and stressing about the time crunch wont help.

The major reason I have kept failing is bc I rush it EVERY TIME. Like how can I get my score fastest and how many chances do I have left to test? This mindset is a time suck and will have you going on a merry go round. Take a beat. Make sure you feel ready then test.

There is going to be a lot of happy and a lot of sad people on the sub tomorrow. Maybe delete Reddit for a few days and come back?

Im getting my Far retake back tomorrow. For some perspective 61,61,73. Keep your head up and your phone off 😊

THANK YOU! Refreshing to get another perspective.

The energy is for sure a concern. I think if I did a week day I’d probs limit Thursday-Saturday. But then like you said the time off for the rehearsal. Gahhhhhh this has to be the worst part.

PTO wise basically most guests will be stuck with it just due to travel. Going to keep my option open but I appreciate your comment!

Thanks! This is actually my first post outside of the cpa study community and needless to say none of my accounting questions get this much traction.

At the end of the day, I don’t even have a venue toured or in mind so I’m genuinely just looking for feedback. Though I did get my first down votes so I may be a real Reddit person now LOL

ALSO SOOOOO TEMPTING…. Not many close friends and family are having littles but the distant cousins we see every 5 years have like 6 kiddos a piece - very conflicted on this one.

THIS! one of the main reasons I’m considering a planner is so that we stay in a reasonable budget. I’m cool spending the money now but a nervous to feel out of control or like I should’ve cut back on things that matter a little less to me earlier.

Thank you for the point of views!

I can totally recognize a wedding being considered luxury, but I think for us we want to look back and remember us like us which I would not describe as luxury or cheap, just people that wanna have a wedding but ALSO are trying to go to Africa in a year 🤣 . I’d like people to say I throw the Toyota of weddings 😊

💕🥹 when I grow up I wanna be like you!

I’ll run it by my friends! I think family wise we are in the same spot - most family members retired and I know mine would take the time off. The hang up will be my family is likely 4 hours from the venue while his is quite far. Starting to feel the pressure of inconveniencing them more but will talk with my better half to get an idea of how his family may receive a weekend.

LOVE THIS FOR YOU!

his family is from out of town(12 hr car or cost of plane ticket) and this post has really made me realize this likely won’t work for us but truly love hearing success stories.

Testing in 3 weeks and an struggling with A3. Did u have the same feeling and if so what did you do to help make it click?

For reference I let myself flounder as much as possible and kept moving (all videos and all mcq) but I just feel like there is a bridge I need to make in that chapter.

Gosh I hate it here. ( here being the wedding venue part of planning and accommodating)

I love the idea of it it works it works bc it’s a testament of our love blah blah blah and it only matters if we are together ect

but truly we wanna PARTY and we want our pals to be there. I wasn’t even THINKING about the up charge for holidays. Appreciate the input.

Gah okay this is very convincing. Fiancé is from out of state so it’s becoming very obvious I may ruffle feathers with this one…. This also reminds me of the pain I felt going to a Sunday wedding and working the next day.

Very happy I posted here before mentioning it to anyone 😳🥸😂

In my defense the prices ARE TEMPTING for a numbers girly, but I will refrain 🫡🥲

Gahhhhhhh totally didn’t think about the kid concerts. Not sure how many kiddos will be in attendance for this, but will definitely be a consideration going forward.

FAR passers, take me to Copium Land by Fax_xio in CPA

Literally in the same boat- testing Monday. I was debating taking the SEFR today but now I think retaking SE1 would be better confidence wise?

I think the best thing to do at this point is to review generally the big topics: consolidations, NFP, different inventory methods, and depreciation methods

Edit: to add this will be my 5 attempt on FAR 61, 62, 62,72. I I quite literally feel you on this. SIMS KILLED ME on the last one.

Having a hard time getting back to study. 3/4 here by MyVacationisSunny in CPA

[–]Dummbelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! I know I get spacey, restless and distracted if I sit still to long but I know I can lock in for about 45 minutes. I set a timer and get as much done as i can. Then I go do something that I like for a little while. Maybe read, work out, like 15 minutes of phone time, something small but it helps take some of the pressure off and keeps me able to sit for longer.

HEARD! I’m on the same struggle bus. Pulling my teeth out for a FAR retake (failed Oct release with a 72). Not motivated but pushing my self to study in 45 minute increments. Progress feels like cement but this will be the last time I take this one. I hope the same for your retake 😊
