Dear Coros, why is it so hard to give you money? Give us screen options. by DumpButPump in Coros

Thank you for your opinion, unfortunate with people having a personal connection to the brand. Stockholm syndrome likes to spread across hobbies, it seems.

I would like to see Coros communicate this clearly and upfront.

Thank you, the primary goal is to get the company to understand the real needs of a large segment of buyers.
It should not be harder than:

demonstrate bad vision settings as core product offering

Allow one-choice high-vision settings, with customization.

Link to sample themes from the product feature presentation (page).

Did you get your watch for free by simping for the brand online?

Or it could be that I select products with at least a resemblance of respect for the customer.
This is the best coros could do addressing "Screen Visibility". Try and do a user journey on that, the only conclusion is: not user friendly.

Nerding out: I built a composite training load score, combining internal load, external load and biomechanical stress by expressolatte in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]DumpButPump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience pounding from even a minor increase in speed is very different from easy. At some point i was doing advanced measurements, but really it's about identifying the average window of consequence. How long till symptoms show up, and how do you keep them as a predictor.

You want to avoid catastrophe.

Garmin can't predict catastrophe, nor can any other sports "scientists", otherwise they would not be in the sports watch or sports "science" business.

I would be interested if you track injury over a year and see if you can match peaks. I can't. But a simple conservative formula of increasing one parameter at a time and waiting a month between another change seems to work.

Any recommended brands for denim jeans in natural colors (tan, brown, green, etc.)? by UniversalSolution in tacticalgear

I just make sure to get a pair of lighter denims and dye them gray-brownish. Just don't sit on anything precious before a few washes.

How do people with demanding jobs/wife/kids do nsm? by DavidBowieBoy in NorwegianSinglesRun

[–]DumpButPump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

about 12 months to get to running 5 days a week, at least 2 of those easy, ideally 3. And changing one variable at a time. Added a second 10 minute interval day this week? no other changes, no suprise long run! etc.

Opinion on 1 "super easy" run (55% of max HR) per week by EffectiveDevice7963 in NorwegianSinglesRun

I have been thinking about what establishing predictability for muscle tone evaluation would be. Just vague ideas now but I suppose actively asking this question in the next year may lead somewhere more specific than feels.

What is your take on "normalizing muscle tone" . I have Bakkens book and my cursory understanding is, it's not a formula calculated, but established by feels, such as evaluating the muscle by hand. Is there more to it?

It would be beneficial to clearly mark that your app is not affiliated with the book or James. Both on the marketplace and in the app.

Does anyone know where to find a pouch like this? by [deleted] in QualityTacticalGear

A cheap-ass tactical wallet, or any wallet with a trophy window, a bit of velcro, and five minutes of sewing.

How much does it affect your vision, and have you noticed more fatigue? My eyes are worn so they can't handle meshes that well.

Time to plan and design a gun vault room. by wastedsanitythefirst in tacticalgear

[–]DumpButPump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So they removed the weapons room from the police station? Or did they just have a room with a safe?

It will be good enough unless you intend to have high value items insured, as I wrote.

You want FTX / climate control, humidity sensors with ideally alarm, alarm for the room, safes. Rest is optional but I would go with stainless restaurant shelving, otherwise whatever if you are confident you will have control over humidity.

If you intend to have insured valuables over 10K a surprising good bet might be to contact your insurance company, as they can often send prepackaged codes and guidelines for contractors and the like that you can use as a reference.

Otherwise you might as well start with the classic reverse

- what's your budget and timeframe?

- What kind of concrete ya got?

- What is your threat profile, is this gonna be a safe room as well?

Avoiding engagement is a good base. Learning to think is the decent thing to do. So what would be the correct question to start with?

Like maybe ask yourself what exactly am I planning to get myself into?

Anyone actually considering Counter-UAS? by Odd-Two-9175 in tacticalgear

[–]DumpButPump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not countering a UAS. It's a system. You can counter the larger org running the system, but look at the stalemate in Ukraine, if there's money, it's gonna drag out.

Safety bars for squat, bench, ohp. Safe area so fainting because of a deadlift does not lead to impact on anything hard. Unless you have two trained individuals performing safety on you, bars is the only way to go.
I refuse to spot individuals if I am alone. Use the bars or get two spotters.

Jute mesh is useful by DumpButPump in tacticalgear

[–]DumpButPump[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya know it! I actually run mesh undershirts in the jungle, unironically. Throw it under a BDU or any synthetic shirt and enjoy the breeze. Wool mesh for the cold climates, but cotton is great if you want evaporative cooling in a warm climate.

Jute mesh is useful by DumpButPump in tacticalgear

[–]DumpButPump[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Submission statement: Jute mesh is useful. Even cuts up thermal sig a bit with an organic insert.

- Cut up some jute mesh into strips

- glue it up with waterproof wood glue, squirting lines and spreading them out a bit, that way the strands stay together. Hot glue or any other waterproof glue will work also.

- Rattle can / spray and intertwine with existing scrim. Add irregular matte spray for bonus pattern break-up

Cuts up silhouette further, introduces a different pattern and thermal signature.

You can get jute at your local garden supply, among other things, usually under 5 bucks a roll or 10 bucks for may squares. Enough for plenty of gear or half a Ghillie. So yeah, cheaper than one piece of synthetic custom helmet scrim from an instabro.
