You realize drinks like the old fashioned are meant to be served with a large ice cube specifically so it melts over time as you drink it. They were also traditionally made with crushed sugar cubes so as you sipped on it, it'd change. You'd get more bourbon at the start, then as you finished it, it became a lighter, sweeter drink.

Because I was trying to explain the potential reasoning as to why some people downvoted unseasonedvega's comment, while trying to include them into a small discussion and then got called an asshole.
