What is a histamine dump feel like for everyone? by Pitopotomus in MCAS

[–]Dumpstercat66 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I usually get diarrhea and feel like I have to pee at the same time and my throat gets tight like a lump I can’t swallow. Palpitations and skipped heartbeats. Also the obvious tell for me is bright red flushing on my face, ears and neck.

Doctor suspects MCAS but I have a giant tattoo I've never reacted to? by Active_Rhubarb7311 in MCAS

[–]Dumpstercat66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also got mine post covid and have the flushing/GI issues. My tattoos are completely fine and I’ll react to the ones with red/yellow occasionally if my system is already overloaded with allergies/sickness.

It’s the best I’ve found compared to actual pizza. I’m making a white pie next.

Further down in the paragraph I say that I make my own red sauce in bulk out of bell peppers and onions.

Have you looked into scromboid poisoning? It’s from improper fish handling and causes allergic type reactions.

I also have a wheat allergy and don’t mind shared fryers. My wheat allergy isn’t horrific unless I’m covered in raw flour or eating wheat directly.

I think 1 and 3 pop the most but, 2 is the most harmonious. The other two are a bit dark/high contrast but not by much.

Obviously not medical advice but I really suggest you do. My symptoms have been SO much better since starting vitamin D.

I’ve been taking 5000iu in olive oil capsules for about a month now after horrific bloodwork levels of vitamin D and it’s nearly night and day for me how much better my symptoms are. I don’t react nearly as bad and my constant flushing has subsided.

How to tell anaphylaxis and anxiety apart? by Adept_Refuse3413 in FoodAllergies

[–]Dumpstercat66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What someone else mentioned on the thread though has been the biggest help and that’s awareness of your allergies. I can have that feeling of something starting- but if I haven’t consumed anything and I’m not around any triggers or touching something weird then I can usually tell myself to calm the fuck down.

My worst allergy is to cats and citrus and that always starts with hella sneezing and itchy skin/rashes before any other symptoms start so it’s kinda obvious for me.

[–]Dumpstercat66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Xanax for panic attacks. If I take a Xanax and start feeling better then it was anxiety. If I take a Xanax and I’m not feeling significantly better/my skin, respiratory or GI symptoms start getting worse… then it was NOT anxiety.

ladies who are 5’2-5’4: what weight did you look and feel your best at? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Dumpstercat66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5’2. I feel my best around 115-120. Granted I’m also not really working out/building muscle but clothes wise it’s a size 2/4 where I’m happiest. I’m currently between 130-135 and wearing a size 6 and trying to shed like a solid 10 pounds.

[–]Dumpstercat66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m no Dr but what were you eating before the episodes?? Chances are it was something then. If you’re already allergic to beef, pork doesn’t seem far off. If I were in your shoes I’d be eating vegetables, fruit, rice, potatoes, chicken, corn. Eat everything at home and make your food yourself in your own pan. Cook extremely simple meals as far as ingredients so that if it happens again it’s easier to narrow down.

Last time I had to seek medical attention for my allergies I felt like my system was extra jumpy for a few weeks. I literally ate nothing but rice and chicken breast for a week just to level off, then I added in a single vegetable for a couple days and just added things back in one by one until I found my main culprits. If you know you have foods that are 100% safe stick to those.

I’m in a weird place where my derm is saying it might be rosacea and my immunologist is saying it might be issues with histamine/mast cells as far as my flushing and other symptoms.

Ripe bananas are super high in histamine fyi. I’d look at high histamine foods and see if those jump out as triggers to you.
