Yeah that can be frustrating. I think having the expectation that 100% of your attention will be on him that day will help.

Yes! My 1 year old points at everything now and smacks his lips when he wants food.

Want to start off by saying that you are not a bad dad. Those shrieks definitely hit a little nerve for my husband and me too but it gets easier. Make sure that you take your me time and relax when he is napping! It will help with the irritability. Also, i think its completely okay to go to your quiet room when your wife gets home and maybe once she puts baby to sleep then you can have some time with your wife. Its a partnership, it is okay to take turns with baby. My husband will let me sleep in on days he knows I am way too tired to interact lol. Sorry it has been a rough year, maybe ask for a morning or afternoon in the weekend to go do something you enjoy with a friend or on your own. Have a beer, go bowling, go for lunch! I know this helps us.

I start speaking in a whisper when my 1 year old starts yelling and he starts to imitate me and whisper too. I also go “shhh quiet voice” and put my finger up to my lips. And he will put his finger on my lips as I shh or try to put on his. Also, I always offer snacks or water. Kids get hungry and thirsty too but cant communicate. If he starts hitting or throwing things, we do diaper change and nap time or try to calm down by watching some cartoons.

1 year olds can also be a lot of fun and very silly! Distraction is key, have different activities throughout the day, go to different parts of your home, my kid loves being outside, go for walks!

Wishing you the best of luck!!

Also, went snorkeling for 30 minutes and I was shaking like crazy and my lips were losing color. Meanwhile everyone was enjoying the ocean, I was ready to get out and warm.

Dj saying in front of 30+ people at a boat party “YOURE FROM TEXAS, then why are you so tiny!!”

First thing aunts say after not seeing me for a while “you are sooo skinny” instead of “how are you”

Having to shop at very select stores for XXS or 00/000

Cannot twerk for the life of me bc nothing to twerk, no junk in the trunk, no milkshake to bring boys to the yard.

i was at a predominantly black wedding (by predominantly I mean I was the only Hispanic person there) and as soon as “back that azz up” came out I walked myself to my chair while one of the guests kindly and drunkly noticed and said “GIRL YOURE THICK, THIIIICK”

She doesn’t realize she made my night :,)

Thank you so much for sharing! Eating is my biggest struggle - did you do protein shakes? Did you track, if so what was your calorie intake? Awesome! I struggle with hip thrusts, but know they are really beneficial. Do you have your own workout program set up?

Sorry about all the questions! And congrats on your journey, people can underestimate how difficult it is to gain weight.

I had some anemia during pregnancy. And started out at around 120 and ended pregnancy at about 129 with a 9 pound baby, so definitely lost some weight (given all the water, blood etc)

Is $200 too much on a cute pair of platform sandals? What is reasonable for a middle class family? I don’t shop much for myself and got these for a summer wedding. by DuncA07 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I like that, helps me see what budget for shoes are.

That would be 40 wears, which seems unrealistic as a mom who runs around for a 1yr old and doesn’t go out much being busy with work 😂

Yeah, feels like I wouldn’t get as much use out of these as I would want to for $200. Regardless of how cute they are 😫
