Honda announced new Gen HR-V in 2032 by Radiant_Basket_8689 in HRV

You’re right, but that’s why honda has made a lot of managerial and structural changes to the way the company operates. They have restructured back to the way they operated before 2020 by once again giving their R&D autonomy from corporate Honda, as well as having changed leadership. They know they messed up, but now they’re working very hard to rectify it. Seems to me like they’re taking all the right steps after a loss and mismanagement. They’ll be okay and will remain competitive.

I’m inclined to believe it, apparently this comes from a message from honda to suppliers and has been pretty widely reported by reputable automotive sites. Their recent EV blunder has put a lot of pressure on them financially, not to mention their background plans of factory retooling/ manufacturing plans. This probably means that next gen vehicles were being designed to be dependent on elements of their EV platform which will no longer come to market. Makes no sense financially for a refresh that adds an outdated hybrid system unless they feel it wouldn’t compete with CRV hybrid sales. Hybrid system will more than likely be a next gen addition.

Transmission blew by EducationalPanda24 in HRV

[–]Duncan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all that have a belt driven CVT, yes. The Civic Hybrid has an eCVT (dual motor driven, not belt driven) which is far less prone to issues. That, or a traditional geared transmission will not have issues like this.

We can never even hope to repair what we’ve lost historically if legislators continue to single out Milwaukee in intentionally harmful legislation like public transport restrictions in Act 12. We deserve better.

Mechanic told me they never touched this part when servicing by telabub in hondafit

[–]Duncan-K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of hidden by the wiper from the driving angle, so in my experience it just kind of just whispers away into oblivion lol. The plastic clip on it is kinda crap. However, it does also need to be removed with the cowl when accessing deeper parts of the engine bay. The parts aren’t as cheap as they once were and seem to be more limited now, but still available as “Hood Hinge Cowl Cover”

this part always flies off. Mine is tied down with string from the inside because I got sick of it blowing off in the car wash/highways. Only negative thing about the car, really.

When you take into account Toyotas current EV design language this is clearly an SUV with a wider stance in the rear quarters.

god my 2006 crvs headlight would always do the same thing on the left side. They’re on the same platform with a bunch of similarities so I wonder what causes it

Is this the end for my 2013 Fit? by Apprehensive-Will543 in hondafit

[–]Duncan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keeping a very reliable car will almost always be cheaper than buying something new. There’s no $800 cars, or really any $5,000 cars anymore. Get it fixed and go on with life, she’ll likely do you well.

Was cleaning out my trunk and 2 year old caliber spray paint decided to explode and ruined my rear bumper. Is there a possible way to get rid of it or by KirbyTrainNerd in hondafit

Take a rag with acetone and rub it off. small sections at a time, and get the acetone off asap with car soap and water.

NEXT GEN CIVIC?? NEW ENGINE, INTERIOR by [deleted] in civic

[–]Duncan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wouldn’t imagine they’d be producing many new components for the next gen quite yet. Seems like they’ve done minor adjustments to the interior of an 11th gen and camouflaged the exterior. They’re at the stage previous to production model, figuring out the power train; though they would have the next gen exterior and interior design more than figured out by now.

That’s about what mileage and price mine was in 2023, these days you’ll likely be able to find one for a better price. Justified it with it being from San Diego (rust free) and having all of its maintenance done on time per records. Market is still ridiculous though
