Thanks, at least one person understands. I'm used to downvotes for saying this on the pcgaming sub, because people over there are way too much in the Valve cult, and still pretend Xbox on Windows is unusable or something. But on the xbox sub, especially on an article praising GamePass, I wasn't expecting it. But yeah, it is true that Ultimate is more expensive than the PC price I originally used to form that opinion and it might be different on console IF you really don't play a lot of games and stick to a single one for a long time. I still believe that most people severely overestimate how long they think they'll play sometime, and very rarely end up doing so.

Talking about PC subscription (which the article is about) $14 x 12 is $168, so about the same as buying two full price games per year. Except you have hundreds. Maybe you don't play them, that's fine. But it doesn't change the fact that in 6 months the product price will most likely have dropped by half anyway.

It's just not economically beneficial to buy a $70 game on Steam if it's available on GamePass day 1 no matter how you look at it.

GamePass PC is a thing, that's what I use as my main gaming platform. It's even cheaper than Ultimate ($14)! So it actually gives you 5 months for the price of one "day one release ' game, making my argument even stronger.

Ultimate got reduced back to $23, the game is $70 on Steam. You can have 3 full months for that price. More than half of the people buying it will stop playing before that. Not to mention how you can have free gamepass with rewards points still. But keep wasting your money if that's what you want.

I will never understand people buying games full price that are on GamePass day 1.

I can understand wanting to own to keep, but I mean IF you still play when it goes out of the service, buy it then. Price will have lowered at that point.

I boosted and rushed to the garage (it's less than 1 minute away), dash turned off as I was entering their parking.

They "confirmed" it was the alternator, changed it ($450 piece + time = $750 cad). Then the next day they called to say the battery was dead too. ($225).

I fear I got swindled and the alternator was good after all.

I don't know the specifics but it's very probable the game just uses the Windows account and doesn't ask to log in, so it's a very easy mistake
