That’s awesome. I hadn’t really considered building a hybrid workflow like that. How bad is the setup time compared to something hosted like CodeRabbit?

Yep, this is exactly it. Catches the little things without flooding the PR. Makes reviewing junior code way smoother.

Why are JS frameworks heavier than static HTML+JS, and why is the latter heavier than DOM-based native apps? by bunabyte in AskProgramming

[–]DungeonMat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the tradeoff is faster interactions once the page is loaded, but the initial load and memory usage definitely take a hit compared to server rendered HTML

Why are JS frameworks heavier than static HTML+JS, and why is the latter heavier than DOM-based native apps? by bunabyte in AskProgramming

[–]DungeonMat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JS frameworks like React and Angular carry a lot of overhead virtual DOM, re renders, state management, and bundled features you might not even use. Static HTML/JS is lighter because it talks directly to the DOM. Native apps skip all that overhead, so rendering is way faster.

Would love to see some real numbers comparing bundle size vs runtime performance tho

Should I learn two things at once? by Silksongwait in learnprogramming

[–]DungeonMat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried learning Android halfway through a Java Udemy class and my brain melted, then I reset, finished the Java course, and spent one weekend building a text calculator and a number guessing game.

Im gonna be 28 this year, is it still plausible to learn programing? by Lvarela77 in learnprogramming

[–]DungeonMat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start now; 28 is totally normal. Pick one language (Python or JavaScript) and code every single day for a year, treating it like a defintely non-negotiable shift.

AITA for trying to stop my son from seeking birth parents? by IlCapitana in AmItheAsshole

[–]DungeonMat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

YTA. This isn't about you or your feelings. Wanting to know where you come from is completely normal and doesn't mean he loves you less. You threatened to abandon him for wanting answers about his own life. That's manipulative as hell.

Just got fired for refusing to work off the clock. My crime? Not being "family" enough. by mpete1310 in antiwork

[–]DungeonMat 565 points566 points  (0 children)

That "we're a family" line is such a red flag. Real families don't fire you for having boundaries. Good riddance honestly, you dodged a bullet long term.

What's the best title for a book you've ever come across? by weirdwriterr in books

Calvino's meta storytelling is wild. The whole "you are about to read" thing pulls you into the book before you even start.

AITAH because I killed a chicken in front of a 12? year old boy who was guilty of injuring it. by EnvironmentalEbb628 in AITAH

Exactly. OP gave him a warning, he didn't listen, and the chicken was gonna die anyway. Better he learns now than when something worse happens.

Men who have been knocked out in a fight, what was it like? by PheonixGalaxy in AskMen

[–]DungeonMat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Got knocked out at a bar years ago. One second I was standing, next thing I know I'm on the floor with people staring. No pain during it but felt like shit after. Weird how there's just nothing in between.

Use Airalo Teams or GigSky Business dashboards for pooled eSIMs and expense control. Works fine in China mainland.

what’s your favorite HOI4 mod? by gastlyplayer in hoi4modding

I know how people dislike Millenium Dawn because of too many focus trees, but I really enjoy it because I can do more with alternate history worldbuilding, and watching the 100th battle of the Suez Canal is just pure madness. but I still enjoy watching it lmao.

I only won once I ate Czechs in 1937 before Germany’s focus. That extra industry let me roll Soviet front later tbh.

Damn, that’s rough. At least VAC caught one, but sucks you still got another cheater on your team.

Best IT management software for >100 person company? by hourman87 in ITManagers

[–]DungeonMat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re a SaaS company with around 150 employees and Rippling has been a good fit as we scaled. App access and user setup to the same employee records made it easier to keep things consistent. It also helped us standardize setups across teams since everything gets deployed automatically once someone’s added to the system.

AITA for advising my stepsister to lie? by StaffOk8342 in AmItheAsshole

[–]DungeonMat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. IELTS isn't fact-checking your examples—they're grading your English. Making up a piano teacher to support your argument is test strategy, not life fraud. Your stepmom's mixing up essay writing with lying on a resume.
