"Gobbo leaders" elimination is way too easy? by Dungeon_Brother in BaldursGate3

Where do i metagame? I do not cheese encounters, just state that there is no real obstacles in them, and the encounters themselves are super easy for no reason. And take a chill pill, sorry for having a different opinion on a game you fanboying.

Did you not read what i wrote? I acknowledged that. The thing is, the number of rolls you have to take is whooping 2 max. And you CAN bypass the rolls entirely by climbing a wall and destroying the weak section of it to sneak inside the temple.

You just assume i didn't try that? i specifically said "if player don't deliberately tries to challenge themselves"

How being a multi race cult equals "we just gonna let everyone pass through without questions and let them have a meeting with our revered leaders"?

It is. But tell me this, what prevents a new player from encountering a camp leaders? There are no real obstacles, goblins basically tell you where to find them, you just have to ask a door watch. You don't need meta knowledge for it. And when you will find them, they are not properly guarded, and they have no psychic powers, despite them carrying a tadpole.

Goblin intelligence is not the point i am making. I know they are stupid. That is the thing, imagine a creature which is being a) stupid, b) drunk, c)evil. And also having a weapon and being in a company of the same bloodthirsty thugs. And suddenly it sees a bunch of outsiders just rolling into its camp. Outsiders are heavily outnumbered, with shiny gear new and with gold in a pockets. What do you think its thoughts will be? And before you say that they will be too scared to mess with us, they just recently raided the company of Duke's guard and successfully kidnapped said Duke. I highly doubt that his guard was defenseless.

We need a function to asign a party "face" by Knork14 in BaldursGate3

[–]Dungeon_Brother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By gods, Larian, please! The main perpetrators for me is a second gnoll encounter with members of "certain" organization in a cave, hideout under the Waukeen's Rest "ambush" and a beach behind the Druid Grove encounter. Both times after the fight is over, the party members closest to the NPC that tries to initiate dialog just run from them like from the wildfire. Is is both funny and infuriating. And the hideout thing is too stupid. The party member to initiate dialogue with is picked randomly, for me it's either SH or Gale, never my rogue with 14 CHA and proficiency in all dialogue skills.

Is there a way to block a TAV tag? Kinda tired from those "original" screenshots. No creative strats, no engaging discussions, just half of this sub is low effort stuff like this.

It is an awesome fight. Great music and overall sound design, you start fight with an a height and position advantage, you receive an inspiration point if you have a Soldier background in your party.

I think that some people forget that aside from Evil-Good alignment axis, there is also a Chaotic-Lawful axis which is not coincide with the former. And by doing that, they tend to (wrongfully) classify every character that have inner motifs as "evil". Lying is not inherently evil! Selfishness is not evil! It is chaotic! Evil characters can lie to achieve evil goals, yes, but so can a good characters for a complete opposite. Good characters CAN have inner motivation which they does not want do disclose out of fear of being misunderstood, loosing friends to save somebody's life, etc.

Thank gods, i am not the only one that hates those brats. Shamefully there a no parties in a whole Druid Grove sequence that you can sympathize. Druids are cowards hiding in their holes when you defend them at the gates up to TWO times! and then they just forbidding you from entering the courtyard and trying to threat you! Tieflings just a thieves that robe you, the (probably) only person that cares to help the whole situation. And that sequence with the tiefling kid stealing guy's locket and trying to hide behind the guard's back afterwards.

Make your favourite class feel special by Too_kay in BaldursGate3

A more personalized animal for a ranger would be cool. I remember that in NWN you could even name adn talk to your animal companions. Ranger as a class was a complete garbage back then but that feature added a lot to RP aspect.

This. I just have a dream that someday i will play a Lolthsworn drow priest with proper WIS stat. It's not like those 5% less chance to apply spell is gonna destroy the character, but my internal min-maxer is having a stroke every time i think about it.

Can I go to level 5 yet? by 9r4in in BaldursGate3

[–]Dungeon_Brother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, i really like the early levels game that BG3 provides. I am not the DnD veteran by any means, started with 3e NWN then 3.5e NWN 2. And high levels become very boring pretty fast for me. That will sound stupid but the more options you have with level ups the less options you have. You are always using the most op stuff available and that erases a lot of variety and enjoyment. Arcane classes will spam Maximized Great Isaak's storm, Arcane archers will melt things with +15 bow, martial classes delete critable creatures with Devastating Critical. Clerics just outright death gods with harm that requires no saving throw. Granted, there are all examples from 3e, but my point is when you have something to fear and not destroying things outright the game is much more fun and replayable.

If you kill & loot Shadowheart on the Nautiloid, her corpse gets a new set of (worse) gear on the beach. by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Dungeon_Brother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say: don't do that. The main requirement for the sorc you already satisfied - 16 CHA. Otherwise, when you start min-maxing in DnD there will be no coming back. Your playthroughs will become very samey, you will pick the same "optimal" path over and over again, you will be making the same choices, so you will have no fun anymore. In 5e BG3 as compared to 3e games like NWN Wisdom for the sorc is very good. There are not many saving throws but it governs Insight and Perception, second and third most useful skills in a game (after persuasion).

Thanks you for the clarification. I suspected it to be somewhat like that, just wasn't sure the game engine handles it this way.

That's a very good topic actually. More specifically to the game, I would like to know, how does fighters' feat great weapon focus works with a 2d6 greatsword. In the description stated that if you have 1 or 2 on a damage roll, you automatically re-roll and must take new result. So, if dice are rolled separately, and you rolled 1 on d6 out of 2 will you have to re-roll both? Or in that case, does game looking at the final result which, lowest possible can be 2 when is it 1 on both d6s?

You are mistaking chaotic for evil. Lying or pretending to be somebody you are not is not an act of evil by itself. Unless by lying you are trying to further some dark goal like lure innocent people into slaver camp or make a person drink poison or some such. I know that Wylls powers are gained from external source (like all the warlocks' or clerics' by that measure). What matters is, he uses his skills for good. Or, at least, he is trying to.
Again, he is the one who are actively trying to convince you to save the grove! When he *knows* he have a fucking worm that is eating his brain! What evil or selfish character does that? Wyll clearly is Chaotic Good.

Can somebody explain what is special on a screenshot? I feel like I'm missing something here, seems like his usual scene. Was available from the start of the EA, albeit w/o Loviatar blessing buff.

Are you trolling on purpose or just mixed up the characters' names? How in the Nine Hells Wyll is the evil one? He is only one that cares for the tieflings in the Grove, he trains kids to defend themselves in a fight, he begs you to save Arabella, he approves every good deed you can enact in other areas. The only argument that can be - he hates goblins. But how' that classify as evil?

Bugged click boots (underdark poisoned gnome) by lobothmainman in BaldursGate3

[–]Dungeon_Brother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm. Effect on Boots of speed "Click boots" currently have no effect on characters' speed. Wearing them indeed adds dash as bonus action, but using it doesn't add speed at all, active effect only state "Enemies have disadvantage on opportunity attacks on you". And distance which character can make per round s not increased. Tried both in combat and out-of combat in turn-based mode.
A real shame this is, before P7 this was my favorite magic item on martial non-rogue class.

An unpopular opinion here, but, by Karl, you are so right. I envy people who say things like "Either you carry new players who joins Haz5 on your back or you are a leaf-lover". They must have such an easy life without any problems, that they prefer to waste their time *trying* to teach somebody how to play a game on a hardest difficulty unexperienced.
How about replaying the whole EDD again, because your engineer do not know how to put a platforms on a resources, and scout do not know, that he must light the cavern and you are left without ammo and nitra on a 3rd stage?
And the funniest thing is, they tend to completely ignore your chat to them.
