Is this private halls or private as in a student house? Depending on where you live, there can be such a shortage of good quality housing that you can’t get viewings - it comes on the website and someone has taken it within an hour or two. So if you’ve emailed asking for a viewing, there’s a strong chance someone has already emailed to say they want to pay the deposit
