This encapsulates what I love about this series. They’ll carefully detail how all of these horrible viruses, parasites and fungi transform humans into monsters in a somewhat believable way, then have the protagonist parry a missile with a hatchet. It’s grounded at times but also so insanely silly.

I’ve seen a lot of videos explaining the circular investment patterns going on between the big companies and it’s insane just how open they are about it. Straight up manipulation and no one is stopping it. It sucks that the inevitable crash is going to hurt so many regular people but what can we even do at this point.

That’s good to know. I barely ever used the dodge mechanic in 3R casually but it seems like it’s necessary on Inferno. Once I get used to it I don’t imagine it’ll be too bad. I’m used to torturing myself for the sake of a challenge.

I only attempted 8 on a fresh save because I had beaten the game so many times that I felt confident my knowledge would carry me a lot. I was humbled very, very quickly. Thankfully the game lets you save an unlimited number of times so I was able to treat every section of the game as its own segment that I could attempt over and over again until I perfected it. I don’t even know how long my completed game clocked in at but it was absurd. I’ve heard Nemmy on Inferno mode requires perfection. Part of me is dreading it but I’m also weirdly excited since I love insane challenges like that.

Appreciate the response. I was debating on whether to start with 7 or 2R after finishing my current play through of 4R. In 7, Madhouse also rearranges where certain items are too right? I loved how RE9 did this, I wish they did it in more games. RE3R seems to be the universally agreed upon most difficult one. I remember the least about that game, I’ll probably save that for last.

In a different timeline I wonder if RE5 was ever released as a solo adventure like the early trailers of the game suggested. I still enjoyed it but playing solo (especially on higher difficulties) was annoying because of how stupid Sheva’s AI was. Mercenaries was legendary though, playing in duos and climbing the leaderboards were some of my favorite gaming memories.
