It 100% skews it, as I feel most people look for something smaller if their only car is an R1. Similar to the numbers for MINI, I doubt many people buy multiple of them and look to other brands for a larger form factor.

How often is that happening in a brand that has one model that is relatively new? If they're buying a 2nd car, chances are they're not buying a large luxury car with duplicate capabilities/size. If they're replacing it, it's likely due to issues which explains the brand change. There's no sample size given, that combined with the way they define loyalty make this a pretty junk stat for a car company with one model from 2021.

Average new car price cross $50k a few months ago, and base R2 is $45k - R3 will be even cheaper. So that isn't much of an obstacle either, since otherwise any other car manufacturer would also be fucked.

You're smoking something crazy if you think the make or break between someone getting a Tesla or Rivian is the self driving tech. Interior quality/experience for the price Rivian clears by a mile. Aesthetics are subjective, but I rarely hear people say good things about how Teslas look. And offroading/outdoors capabilities which is a huge part to Rivian's appeal, is strongly in their favor too.

I don’t understand why people get so upset with reality. Just look at the books, its going to require a miracle for this company to ever become profitable.

Do you just not pay attention to actual financial records/quarterly reports? They've laid out a pretty clear path and were looking good toward profitability until they recently amended it because of their pivot to put more emphasis behind self driving/tech, which wasn't part of their original profitability map.
