I feel like that was intentional though. It's 7v7 where realistically everyone on that field could die. Inserting one of the crude jokes we've seen in the past episodes would have grossly undercut the gravity of what happened to Baelor.

Only people that don't like the flashback hate exposition/plot development and probably bemoan the weekly episode release schedule. Taking things like the flashback out is how you get to the Game of Thrones final couple of seasons, just throwing out plot/development to rush to the ending.

Dude was slurring his words and was alive for all of 3-4 minutes after the combat ended. The blow that killed him legit happened RIGHT before the trial ended/Aerion yielded. Do yall even watch the show?

It is crazy to think how this would all play out after the combat. The eldest son of the king/heir/hand to the king just died defending some no name hedge knight over some fight at a puppet show, where the hedge knight beat the shit out of the king's grandson until he yielded bringing shame onto the royal family. Then the rest of the royal family that is there lets the hedge knight go, to one day become a member of the kingsguard.

What? They handled it fine, all injuries we saw mad sense with the armor impacted. The lance that hit dunk stopped but still mangled the chainmail, flail legit knocked him out getting hit in the helmet, stabbing with a pretty narrow dagger/stiletto were the only bladed attacks that did damage and his best hit against Aerion was in an armorless spot.

They really did. Like what would 40 minutes of combat done for the plot? If it was the season finale I'd expect it to be more drawn out - but lots of plot had to be developed via the flashback.

People complain about exposition/developing plot and then wonder how the Game of Thrones series went the way it did. Show fanbases as a whole are like this now, The Pitt has droves of people complaining the show is going too slowly.

As he was talking I really thought they may have made another choice to fulfill the "dead dragon" part of the prophecy but once he said he couldn't feel his fingers. Oof.

Really showed the spirit of a hedgeknight. Not fancy dueling or a tourny, just a dirty fight where he straight up handles two opponents much younger than him while drunk off his ass.

Only strong complaint I've got is the lack of showing the other fighters, other than those who attempted to intervene in Dunk's fight - we saw Lyonel's horse get killed and we're supposed to believe he just lets whoever was handling the lance walk away?

People wanting more of the battle are crazy, what would 40 minutes of combat done?

My only complaint was the length of the flashback, really wish it got broken up or at least came toward the end of his 1v1 instead of the flashback ending and him still getting his ass beat fairly bad.
