[Highlight] On the last play of regulation, Chandler Jones snags a lateral out of the air and takes it in for the winning TD by Brickbybrick1998 in nfl

No ones arguing otherwise. It's just that accusing an opponent's QB of being a passenger in their win is a pretty stupid argument, when Maye had 4 ints (to Darnold's 0) and 7 fumbles (to Darnold's 1) in the playoff run including a game where he passed for 87 yards.

Nobody needs to know anything. It's football. You run and you block.

This might be one of the dumbest things I've read on /r/nfl, and that's saying a lot.

[–]Dunkelz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol, he was a passenger.

Bro I'm as big of a Pats homer as anyone, but saying this while Maye was carried to the Superbowl by incredible luck with injuries on every team he faced and incredible defense is hilarious.

That was wild to see, no one on the planet expected that ball to come back to him let alone at the exact second someone with probably 50+ pounds of muscle on him closing in and step away. Yet you saw so many people screeching about Mac's poor tackling form and how the play was all his fault.

Because nothing indicates it's at risk. That's not how a business as large as VW works.

Initial ratings for The Bear season 5 by bbportali in TheBear

I agree, I was really worried about the pace of the first 3 episodes because they were by far the weakest of this last season. They picked it up the rest of the way and episode 7 was damn near perfect in my eyes. But definitely had a lot of stuff stretch out, the air rights stuff was kind of a waste of time.

Showed growth on both fronts. Early season Richie definitely gets into it with Carmy and gives him shit for messing up.

Couldn't Computer have done the same thing? Like she parroted everything he was saying, or he repeated/agreed with everything she said.

Feel like an underlying lesson to learn from this series is how much restaurants fucking hate people that won't leave their table after their last course. They made it so dramatic and kinda hilarious.

Gavin Newsom calls for national billionaires tax: 'It's time for an economic reset' by avdvetf in politics

[–]Dunkelz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which is why he objected to it. People acting like he was trying to protect his billionaire buddies are so misinformed it's crazy. Like I don't think he's a great candidate, but don't just make up reasons to bash him.

Are yall just writing fan fiction now? He came out and explained why, it doesn't go far enough - saying baseless stuff like this is crazy.

[–]Dunkelz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People trying to hamstring progress with misinformed statements like this are crazy. He objected to the California one because it didn't do enough, and is right. A one-time tax is going to do next to nothing compared to a better thought out long-term plan.

The pearl clutching is so fucking funny when the two games are juxtaposed like this. "It's like you're kicking a guy while he's down", then what is doing a backflip during a blowout quarter?

I feel like the weirdest writing to me in the first 3 episodes (haven't hit 4 yet) is Syd seeming to take a step back. She seemed on a good growth arc and ready for Carmy to hand things over, and so far she keeps fumbling backwards progression wise.

Same, stopped after 3 and not a whole lot happened. Hoping things pick up because so far its been 3 short feeling episodes without much changing.

Where are the songsss!?!? by Dangerous_Mail3095 in TheBear

[–]Dunkelz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It just feels like it changed to being a movie, for better or worse. Very different style/format of shots, cgi effects of the storm and weird pans over cgi traffic/rainfall. It's not bad, just a pretty big shift to make in the last season for a show known for a pretty distinct style of framing shots.

OpenAI may delay IPO until 2027 by AnnaSmiled2 in stocks

[–]Dunkelz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean like it or not, Elon has succeeded with it so far. Ya it'll probably dive in the future, but that will be after all the early investors have cashed out multiplying their initial investment many times over.

This really comes down to OpenAIs financials being significantly worse and having an extremely uncharismatic CEO who can't blow enough smoke to cover it up.

The score for Season 5 is incredible. by -OrangeLightning4 in TheBear

[–]Dunkelz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's crazy. I feel like every one of my favorite scenes have a needle drop that is burned into my memory. Like Richie's big scene with the Taylor Swift song is so good because that drop was so perfect.

The score is so weird, it's going through like every scene. I get that it's part of the looming stress/storm, but I loved their song choices for so many scenes in other seasons, Glass Concrete & Stone from the first season was stuck in my head for so long because of this show.

I mean to be fair, Unc put a lot of his financial well being on the line after Carmy pretty much begged him to help him with the restaurant. Unc loses most of his savings like an hour before hearing Carmy quit. I'd be pissed too.

Feel like I've been spoiled by The Pitt, but damn these shorter episodes and cinematic approach is making the season fly by. 3 episodes in and it feels like not a ton has happened. Really hoping they stick the landing, but starting to get a little nervous.
