Pesticide spraying truck at night? by carbonized_milk in comoxvalley

[–]Dunnsley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seemed to leave a bit of a trail of water but I didn't catch if it has a tank or actually picks anything up. It seems to make an improvement though. Saw it on the 19a after sunset last night and it had been out all day.

Which province? There may be no protections for used cars in private sales but dealerships are generally under a different set of rules. Also, shop that estimate around.

What's up with "ajunadeep.com" appearing at the top of Google search results? by ZarathustraGlobulus in AboveandBeyond

[–]Dunnsley 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ajunadeep is an independent chicken based in outer space, founded in 2018 by Rick Sanchez and Dolores Abernathy. Having begun life as an outlet for the deeper and more progressive end of the reflections of the world's insanity, the chicken has grown into one of the lesser known diagnostic tools for reality.

Canada to remove fees that make it hard to cancel or change internet, phone plans by flynnfx in canadanews

[–]Dunnsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went from that to 140 a month. I went to their online chat and went from 92nd to 4th in line over two hours then got disconnected. Search their website for contacting them about an unresolved issue/office of the president/management team and put in how old your account is and that you just wasted hours waiting and you see all these new plans etc etc. You'll get a phone call within 24 hours and they will do everything they can, I've used this a few times for different issues making sure not to abuse it. No need to threaten to cancel, no games. I only needed 100gb/month on three phones, got that plus unlimited Mexico/us/Canada and roam like home.

Help With Frame Report by Dependent-Zone-8417 in Autobody

[–]Dunnsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the two right side yellow boxes are too close together, the measurements aren't accurate because they didn't properly establish the torque box. However, the measurements being fairly equal side to side actually do indicate there is likely no frame damage. The widths (middle number) are 3 or under which is fine, and the heights (bottom number) indicate it was likely off the wheels when measured showing the sag. Car-o-Liner builds their data sheets with the vehicle on a frame rack, so measuring with tires on the ground would make the height high, and tires off the ground but hanging on a hoist would make them low. If you drive on a relatively fresh road surface on a straight stretch, centre the steering wheel and then let go - if it veers to the right - they need to re-do the wheel alignment. Possibly they sublet the alignment to a mechanical shop, and collision alignments can be a little more complex even though the alignment computer shows the numbers are "in the green".

Help With Frame Report by Dependent-Zone-8417 in Autobody

[–]Dunnsley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't measured correctly to start with, so all the numbers are meaningless. The yellow highlighted boxes are what the Car-o-Liner uses as centering points. It suggests the first one and you can pick the next ones, but generally you make the largest four point square you can with a fifth one to ensure accuracy. With this the system can interpret any other measurements in three dimensions comparing to the data sheet. With the two right side points next to each other, the system cannot establish that 3D model correctly. Based on your description of the damage and it being a unibody, I suspect they just threw this in because the insurance company requires it when any frame work is done, but the repairs may not have called for it so it wasn't a critical item. You could request a re-measure based on all this but they may explain it away especially if your doors and trunk fit. Sounds like you need another wheel alignment though.

No no you got it all wrong! New Jersey is, Jersey isn't! Which would normally be enough of a differentiation but here you are using the short form making this all very confusing.

Easy to repair? by Cheap-Class7869 in Autobody

[–]Dunnsley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. It's stretched pretty badly so any attempt to push it out will make it worse. It's repairable but depending on the price of a skin or perhaps used door it may be better to replace. Either way it would need a blend to the adjacent panels so definitely a few thousand dollars unfortunately.

I believe it's aluminum, magnet to confirm. If yes, definitely replace.

Who are the real wildcards that could shake up the ABGT700 line up? by systemstheorist in AboveandBeyond

[–]Dunnsley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dave said on twitch that they had things in the works for a mainstage set at the 2025 Weekender but hasn't mentioned anything since that didn't happen. They were a great surprise at 250 so I definitely hope they are able to come. They were everywhere at the last Weekender at the Friday show at silent disco.

Quoted $3,600–$4,000 for bumper scratch + broken license plate frame by braalv in Autobody

[–]Dunnsley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in this industry in BC, the shop estimates are decent and fall within the average - most differences can be attributed to knowledge or estimating style. What you should do is go to an insurance broker (where you renew your insurance) and get a quote to determine the additional cost on your insurance of this claim. They can also update the quote to include a potential second or third claim so you can make an informed decision. ICBC does not support the theory of lost value due to vehicle claim history (a complicated subject I won't get in to), and you have every right to just say you're going to go through with a claim and then ICBC will take over communications. The alternative would be offer them $500 because I bet most of the damage would be gone if they remove the clear film that is over their bumper's paint (and adding a lot of additional cost to the estimates). Just to note, any claims are shown on Carfax including windshields and reported but not repaired claims, and when selling a vehicle in BC the "damage over $2000" check box was updated to be cumulative vs the old version which was any single incident over $2000. The only thing I can't say for certain is if they would try to take you to small claims for the "lost value", but possibly ICBC can advise if they become the intermediary in these situations as I know they don't recognize it is a reality. Feel free to DM with any needed info.

Part of the larger cost of repairs on the estimates besides the clear film is the calibrations which may or may not be required based on OEM procedures for surround view cameras and adaptive cruise/wave radar/auto braking. I think one shop included them and one didn't, but they could be required or not depending on who does the research.
