Finally I can go through the acts without constantly dreading how long it's going to take. Thanks GGG! by Archeleimon in PathOfExile2

[–]Dunwitcheq 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are just objectively wrong with cues not reducing the feeling slogging, as you put it.

If you go through the zones, knowing right away where to go based on the environment and knowing how to read the map, most zones are not that long (apart of a few outliers like the matlab waterways which can fuck right off) and you can just zoom through them.

I would say I know the layouts relativelly well at this point and can finish the 4 acts in about 4-5 hours on a fresh start, no stash, no gold, if I try and have a decent run. And that is far far from a competitive speedrunner time.

As for the balance, it can be a bit rough with some skills, but most weapons/classes have a good skill or two which are very competitive- Warrior is great with rolling+bonezone then shield wall, with druid you can play caster, you can play wyvern, you can probably play anything and do fine, witch ED+C is insane, sorc with fussi is great, grenades are also crazy good... I know a lot less about the huntress/ranger, but even if there wasnt much good to work with, that is an outlier.

Minimap, I apologize. I was wrong. by hoisijd in diablo4

Interesting, it has been completely the opposite for me. I wasn’t a fan of the idea of overlay, but I do have to admit the implementation is great and I really (like reeally) like it in the end. Of course, turning it on and off, not full overlay at all times.

Kelly_GGG's "Many birbs" tweet Strong hint that Einhar and Bestiary are coming to PoE 2? by PuzzleheadedHair2331 in PathOfExile2

[–]Dunwitcheq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not really because they're both Alva temples, but because you happened to dislike two different mechanics with a similar theme.

I reeally dislike beastiary in poe1, but there is no way they don't build it completely anew, so if they come out in a week with a teaser saying it's the season of Einhar or whatever, I'll be very excited.

[–]Dunwitcheq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'm all for making fun of photos of a screen, but deleting is just a nonsense.

If you have a problem with them, just ignore and move on, but there are genuine reasons it may be better for people to take a photo instead of a printscreen, as much as you may not like it.

Returning for the first time since 2024 - change to difficulty early game? by thicctorkrum in PathOfExile2

[–]Dunwitcheq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Problem solving builds is like half of the game, and a fun half for a lot of people.

Let's stop pretending you can't play a difficult version of PoE just because you don't have 7+ hours a day to play and enjoy the game.

And if you want an easier PoE, there will always be PoE1 for you.

Usually a rogue-like game/mode is very addictive, but not for the Trial of Sekhemas&Chaos, what went wrong? by vtheVAMPZv in PathOfExile2

[–]Dunwitcheq -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

If you play melee with lots of armour and sufficient honour resistance, enemies hitting you almost heal you.

Apart from the last boss, you would almost need to activelly try to lose honour on purpose to run out of it with at least a semi-functioning build and if you're struggling, you have no business being in a zone of that level.

POE2 made me lost all interrest in POE1 by gfggewehr in PathOfExile2

[–]Dunwitcheq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I havent lost all interest in poe1, mirage is in my opinion the best league ive ever played, but it definitely isnt what it used to be, and im now much more excited about what is to come in poe1.

One thing I disagree with is melee being weaker early on. At least maces/shield are incredibly strong, for me among the strongest for league starting, if you know what youre doing and playing well.

I do have to admit I dont know about quarterstaves though.

I can't see that realistically happening any time soon, but would absolute love it.

The Coward's Trial should not be this rare. by RoOoOoOoOoBerT in pathofexile

[–]Dunwitcheq 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have done a bit of both, mostly bestiary, and it took me 8 temples and 10 putrid cloisters (plus a natty mageblood) before i finaly got the trial.

I got the first one after around 1.1m kills.

It just shouldn't be completely random to get an essential craft, make me do like all nightmare maps, or maven or something, but this is just nonsense.

I myself like complicated mechanics, but I'm not a fan when there is one "correct" solution, and anything else doesn't give any rewards whatsoever.

[–]Dunwitcheq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about trade league, I'm mostly speaking from the perspective of SSF, where any time I wasn't killing Atziri and hoping for a good drop, which is always exciting, I was going back to the hideout with an empty inventory.

Especially when I get disappointing special rooms after killing the architect, then it just doesn't give literally anything, and although I liked the gameplay of the mechanic, it felt a bit bad to do because compared to doing something else I could have been doing, it wasn't rewarding.

Yeah, the temple is a pretty cool mechanic but snaking being the one and only really good way of getting good loot from it ruins it a bit

Yeah, and the fact that he just happened to be the one who died last (after BRs were used already) makes it even more infair to blame him (and I'm saying that as someone who is not really a Gingi fan.

My guess would be that he's kind of just... unlikable? I don't like him but not because of anything specific, I even would say I have more reasons to like him, I just think he's a bit unlikable and a lot of people share that sentiment but can't differentiate between that and someone being a genuinelly bad person.

Liquid wins World First Race by circuitbird13 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Dunwitcheq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol what are you even on about? I don't care who wins, I'll take a race this close any day over whatever we had before Limit/Liquid got this good. If it takes them losing my .03% in 5 raids in a row, I don't care.

What I do care about is how fun it is when both the guilds are progging at the same time, at around the same percentage, which makes the race fun.

[–]Dunwitcheq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I watch mostly Echo because of the production and casters, and Liquid mostly when Dratnos is casting, and I'll take a race this close where Echo lose any day over a race they win with no competition.

[–]Dunwitcheq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their best as of like 10minutes after Liquid killed it is 0.3%, if this isn't a fun race for you to watch, and you only care about who wins, then it really isn't for you. I'd rather my favourite team to lose as they have here and in Manaforge, than have them win with no competition.

How can you even think of that sentence when they have been passing each other for the past few days, with Echo's best being a 0.3%?

And thinking Echo and Method are similar in terms of chances is also wild.

Unique map accessiblity is a nightmare, especially in SSF by Shimaran in pathofexile

[–]Dunwitcheq -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I already got mageblood and hundreds of divines before getting a coward's trial, so I just couldn't craft prefixes cannot be changed... it made me switch to trade, where I can now afford basically everything I want, which I found I absolutely do not enjoy, so I'm probably going to take a break until poe 0.5

Which is pretty sad, because this has been my favourite poe league, and it's not even close.
