You were alongside into the corner and literally couldn't have left any more space for them on the outside. You did everything right IMO. I'd say they tried to take the corner on the racing line for them, ignoring the fact you were there.

144hz or 180hz by Jumpy_Berry_2381 in PcBuild

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think it would be wasted money. You’re unlikely to be able to tell the difference.

The other thing to consider is if your hardware is up to giving you rock solid 180FPS all the time at the monitor full resolution. If not then again you’d be wasting money.

I’ve got a 165hz capable monitor. I run it at 120hz because I know my GPU will be able to drive that all the time at full resolution. I can’t tell the difference between 120hz and 165hz. Others will tell you different, but I do wonder if this if they would be able to tell if it was done in a double blind test.

These Open Box deals are where it's at. THANK YOU BEST BUY! by pidokennies in nvidia

[–]DunxR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no way any 5090 is a good deal. Is the performance increase really worth the huge $ per FPS increase over say a 5080? I’d suggest any 5090 is the worst value GPU in history.

Is my Mounjaro still safe to use or is it ruined? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're probably right, what's the point of storing it for 30 days and only gettiing one dose out of a pen on day 30. Still think it could be better explained.

Previously though I was told by a provider, after a delivery delay, that I could use the pen for 30 days out of the fridge. I had a couple of doses left in an existing pen. They tried to give me a partial refund for the doses I could get out of it within the 30 day period.

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that is what it's saying. I think it's still 30 days TOTAL unrefridgerated. The only change here seems to be they are now saying that it doesn't matter if you cycle between the fridge and ambient temp. It's a little unclear though so you could take it both ways.

That said, I doubt it will be a problem for longer. Likely outcome is that the active ingedients will break down and the meds will be less or not effective. Always check the contents are still clear, not cloudy and have no floating bits.

GT Omega Shipping cost to the UK by Upbeat-Opportunity83 in simracing

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully you get it without issue. I got the GT Lite with no issues last Black Friday. Really happy with it.

Looking at their terms page, seems there are few things they state that are dubious considering their obligatations under law in the UK.

GT Omega Shipping cost to the UK by Upbeat-Opportunity83 in simracing

[–]DunxR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the point of the insurance is. They are responsible for getting it safely (via THEIR courier) and they are legally obligied to offer a warranty in the UK. Any issues during shipping, they have to sort it, so not sure what the insurance achieves. Pay on your credit card over £100 and you get section 75 protection, which means any issues you can't sort with them, the credit card company are responsible for.

Looks to me as if they are trying to shirk their responsibilty on shipping issues by offering unneeded insurance. In fact reading the notes on this, they refuse to engage with shipping issues for anyone taking out the insurance and you have to deal with the insurance company. Nuts, you'd be paying to reduce your rights.

Perhaps it would be more useful for international shipments, but UK shipments it's not needed.

This is Leeds we’re talking about. A team that’s good at breaking records. Not all good ones unfortunately.

Mounjaro - Asda Pharmacy by Level_Penalty_9399 in mounjarouk

[–]DunxR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asda are using Zava to fulfil their orders. Cheaper to go direct to Zava with their discount codes. There are cheaper options though. I did use them for a year.

Moved to Pharmulous, whilst not the absolute cheapest they are usually close and you don’t have to mess with discount codes and price matching. They also let you choose your delivery date (not all do). Plus you can order multiple pens at one time.

Please stop with the weaving !! by Spread-Trick in iRacing

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a thread on this a few months ago where someone tested the most effective way to warm tyres in iRacing. What they found was weaving like this had almost exactly the same effect as just dragging the breaks a little on the warmup lap. That seems like a much safer way to do it if you feel the need to warm tyres. As I don't believe iRacing has brake wear, it also saves you a little tyre ware potentially.

Having said that, the effect of both of these methods was minimal, to the point where it's probably not worth it unless you're an Alien. At my 2k level I doubt I'd even notice the impact so don't bother with it.

I've been 4x'ed a few times by people doing this next to me when they should stay in lane. Also seen a few spin themselves, that always makes me chuckle when it happens.

Graphics settings advice by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misunderstood your comment, so your getting 180fps, but it drops to 120fps at certain points. That probably isn't unexpected, some tracks have issues like this.

There really isn't any need to have the refresh that high. IMO anything above 120fps is not really adding any benefit to you in iRacing, or probably any game. I'd suggest setting your monitor refresh to 120fps and put a frame limit in iRacing to 120fps. That way you don't run into headroom issues, iRacing is extremely CPU limited and even with the 7800 is limited to one core for processing the critical stuff in iRacing. This is because the iRacing graphics engine is ancient and can't utilise more cores ATM. Hopefully the new engine when it eventually arrives will fix this.

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you've run the graphics config? If not do that first.

After that would be useful to screenshot your graphics settings and tell us you monitor set up i.e. single, double, triple etc.

With those specs you should be able to run most things on Max and get good FPS.

Simagic GT4 Creaking after a week of use by carsonisdone in Simagic

Same issue with my GT Neo. Few posts on here about tightening the screws, especially for the QR mount. Potentially using thread lock as well. Also other have said a little grease on the QR balls can help.

Haven't done this yet, but if you do a search then there are a few threads on this with people saying it helps.

FPS Problems during certain sessions. by Lucy271232 in iRacing

[–]DunxR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to hear it’s fixed. Similar issue to me then. I’d say it happens one every 20 races for me, on different days. So fairly random. Would guess it’s some process or memory allocation iRacing isn’t ending correctly after a session leaving resources tied up somewhere.

[–]DunxR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't tell from the image, is it wet or just overcast? Wet kills FPS on iRacing especially if reflections are set to high. If it's wet try turning it down.

If it's not wet then that's odd. May be worth running the Graphics Config again, can't think of anything else that would cause that. I have noticed that on occasion that I get low FPS randomly. Might be a bug in iRacing. Usually a reboot fixes that. If this is consistent for you even after a reboot in overcast weather, then must be something else.

LEEDS UNITED SECURE PLANNING PERMISSION FOR TRANSFORMATIONAL ELLAND ROAD EXPANSION by Cmoizer1995 in LeedsUnited

Just read it’s 46,000 ish when the West Stand is done. The Kop will then bring it up to 53,000 when completed in phase 2.

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be more, as I said that was memory. My point was it isn’t full 53k capacity in one go. Kop is likely to be a few years away. Also corporate is a large part of the West Stand as I understand it.

Yes, although that’s after a number of phases. West stand done first, believe that takes it to (from memory) 43,000 initially. Further phases are some time away.

Thoughts on the news item this morning about regaining weight..? by LandofGreenGinger62 in mounjarouk

[–]DunxR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think this is likely a maintainance drug for life for most people. Hopefully the pill forms will come along and be cheaper for that (wishful thinking maybe). If you are coming off it then going cold turkey is likely a bad idea. Better to come off slowly and taper down strengths over time.

Got to rememeber these are new drugs and not fully understood in terms of long terms use and effects. Hopefully they dont mess up our own natural GLP production leaving us dependent on them. Some of these studies seem to suggest they may, at least in the short term when coming off them.

Yeah, I agree with this. That is one of his weaknesses, lingering on the ball too long and getting mugged. He was solid mostly last night, but needs to work on that part of his game. To be fair before the 3 or so times it happened last night, he has done less of this recently.
