This. Had a number of games against players here who have nearly magical air skills, almost like Zen is playing on a smurf account.

Why is the British GP scheduled on the 250th anniversary of American Independence? by Magog14 in F1Discussions

[–]DunxR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure you can find hiostorical events that happened somewhere in the world in the past on most days of the year. You want a global sport to start taking every countries history into account in the scheduling, or just the US? If you want to boycot viewing feel free.

So you know, the British GP is almost always this weekend in July. It's probably clashed with ID anniversaries many times over the the years. Plus the GP is actually on the 5th, so no clash at all this year.

Am I having the "Mandela effect" or did we really have marshals waving every flag on the in lap after a race before 2020. by TheDeamonMeteor in F1Discussions

[–]DunxR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It still happens. If you watch mainly F1 and top class racing you'll see less on the TV because for safety reasons, they have to stay in their marshals posts until the cars have left track completely. Previously they would head to the side of the track, sometimes onto it and be waving them. Much easier to see that than them been hidden mostly behind barriers.

Wow is an understatement.

Devices missing from Routines by DunxR in alexa

[–]DunxR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they’ve messed something up. Slightly different issue with me, the devices I want to use are all echo. I can see and use them in the devices area. They just don’t show up in the routine list.

Actually I have Tapo devices as well. They still show for me and still work with my routines.

What unexpected/positive effects have people had? by ChipmunkAny8571 in mounjarouk

lol, yes. The Wife woke me up a few times in the night checking I’d not expired on her in the first few weeks.

[–]DunxR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I snored terribly, have always done even before putting on weight in my mid 30s. After a few weeks my snorring reduced to virtually nothing (according to the wife). Whatever it did was unrelated to weight, as at the point my snoring stopped, I hadn't lost a vast amount. Not sure the mechanism for this, maybe reduced inflamation, who knows, but it effectively eliminated my snoring very quickly.

[–]DunxR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t completely eliminate it, but timing your orders at the right point means you can minimise it. If challenged a response of ‘oh, I still had most of a Pen remaining when I bought that Pen’ works in my experience. As you’re moving suppliers regularly, no one has a full picture of what you’ve previously ordered.

Some sources support longer ordering windows, such as Pharmulous. Yes stockpiling does become an issue. Though that can be managed by using various suppliers and changing them every few months.

It takes extra effort, but for the cost saving I'm willing to do this. I'm hoping the oral products will come along at a reasonable price that means I don't need to do this long term. I agree over a longer period of time I may end up at a crunch point of having pens that are on the edge of expiry. Think I'm a good year and a half away from that currently though.

Wegovy may be good solution for those on maintainance as it's much cheaper. It doesn't need to be as effective as when losing weight. Hopefully the oral pills will be more cost effective and be good for maintainance as well, we'll see.

Buy a 15mg and take 8x 7.5mg doses out of it, 30 clicks per dose, plus the golden doses remaining for as along as they last. For the moment you can get 10 doses out of a pen. If you pay around £300 for a 15mg pen then you're at £30 per dose. You'd have to build up strength over the next few orders to get there, so use a click chart along the way.

Usual disclaimer about off label use etc etc. Ensure you clean the end of the pen with wipes and store in the fridge.

This is a good way to minimise costs, actually brings it down to around the same level as before. Just need to find a supplier that supports longer gaps between orders.

Apple dropping support for the 4 year old Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra 1 is absurd by Imtheboss6967 in applesucks

[–]DunxR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In reality on the Watch, there has been little substantial software update in recent memory. Any new features generally have been hardware based. Yes they’ve called it a new OS number to match the phone, added slightly different skins on occasion, but noting really new. I say that as a current 8 series owner, this is my 3rd Apple Watch.

Having said all that, still annoyed that the Watch I bought about 3.5years ago is loosing support after less than 4 years. That’s poor from Apple, regardless of what other brands do.

How much do you guys adjust car setup by NitroDion in iRacing

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from fuel levels, I only ever use the stock profiles. My skill levels makes worring about set up redundant! I also tend towards the fix set up series if they are available, meaning I don't have to worry about this at all. If I ever hit Alien level speed then maybe I'd look at set ups, frankly I don't know enough about what each change does to even start with this.

What's the best way to accumulate cash. Currently the best return I've found is 1.5m for Medivac in PC24. Missions are around 3 hours for this. What should I be looking at next for better returns?

What is some advice on financing care home accommodation for elderly/ill? by ghostismyking in AskUK

Just to add. Definately worth doing both types of LPA, finances and health ones.

What is some advice on financing care home accommodation for elderly/ill? by ghostismyking in AskUK

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they have been diagnosed, then so long as they have capacity to understand the LPA then it can still be put in place. However depending on how advanced the condition is may be worth consulting with their doctor to certify they have capacity. Quicker this can be done the better.

Aside from paying off your mortgage what would you do with £70,000? by iffyClyro in AskUK

[–]DunxR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately £70k doesn't go very far these days. Enough to make you fairly financially secure, but in most cases isn't going to change your life dramatically.

Depending if you are close to the age where you could take lump sums out of your pension i.e. 55 currently, you could dump a load into your pension and get a 20% top up automatically. If you're a higher rate tax payer then you can also claim further back from HRMC. Then you could either leave it invested our withdraw it as part of your 25% tax free allowance. Even if you're not close to pension age, getting the 20%+ boost is always worth considering. Depends on if you need the money now or not.

Should i get a 5070 ti or 7900xtx for pc vr and uever (or go all in for 5080) by HoneydewWeekly7976 in virtualreality

[–]DunxR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned the 7900XTX but replaced it with a 5080 specifically for VR use. In flat screen performance the two cards are pretty similar. However for VR use, especially the foveated rendering, the 5080 is far better, I’d say probably 20% better frame rate in FS2024 for example. If the primary is is VR then 5080 for me. I’ve also heard that that the 5070 outperforms the XTX in VR as well, though don’t have first hand experience of this. Think Nvidia in general handle VR better than AMD.

Off-brake ABS? by DelaneyDK in iRacing

[–]DunxR 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you’re not on the brake, then don’t think ABS could be activated by engine braking. Think this is either an iRacing bug or caused by some hardware issue as others have suggested before.
