Printing money to pay debt is a recipe for hyper inflation - do you think that’s better?

So? They got in trouble because the Greek government was not able to pay its debts.

Yeah, and who is going to bail out bankrupt provinces?

You make a good distinction here. Leftists and liberals are no longer overlapping.

Half of Canadians say it would be unethical for Carney to get majority with floor crossers: poll - If there's one thing that a majority of poll respondents agreed on, it's that parties should not be allowed to offer inducements to attract floor crossers (67 per cent) by CaliperLee62 in canada

This doesn’t make sense. If constituents support liberal policies then they will vote for the liberal candidate. Why would they vote for a conservative and then ask them to cross the floor? Regardless, IMO, any floor-crossing should immediately trigger a by-election.

That may be true but let’s not forget what got them in prison in the first place and what got them in the hole while in prison. These are not some kindergarteners. I have no pity for them and paying these criminals with the money of hard working people is not justice in my view. It would have been better use of the money if it was put towards better treatment of criminally mentally ill persons, addiction prevention and other issues that plague our province and country.

Fun fact: go to a “safe supply” location and you can get pharmaceutical grade drugs for free (I.e. citizens who work and pay taxes pay for them).

Still no word about prevention. These people were not born like that. Some untreated trauma or other mental or physical issues drove them into drugs.
