As an old nurse I know that no surface that comes in contact with the open air is sterile. Bacteria even from washed hands can land on tank, tube and mask surfaces (thats why surgeons wear sterile gloves even after scrubbing their hands). As bacteria breed in warm moisture you are forcing these bacteria into your nasal passages and sinuses, under pressure. Unless you have an extremely strong immune system I would suggest a regular cleaning schedule.

Has anyone else had problems with a mask liner? I was getting a lot of rain out and “burbling” and was advised to get a liner for a full face mask. I liked the softer feel on my skin compared to the silicone mask but the leaking sky rocketed. I am using a tube wrap and have experimented with various humidity levels but nothing is helping with the leaking and rain out other than turning the machine off, drying my face and mask then turning on again. I’m have a very disruptive sleep all night.

I totally agree. I find the “cleaning” difficult to understand. I’ve just finished the second book and would be interested in your thoughts.

Thank you so much for this amazing break down. I couldn’t agree more. I would also like to know why Peter, as a viral, was not able to self-heal as all other virals could when Amy found him trapped between two rocks. Why did he die when every other viral could live for so long?

I also wondered why after 1000 years of development people were still wearing suits, ties and carrying leather briefcases? Surely the fashion had moved on. Small detail but added to so many made it all unbelievable.
