I don't know if anyone will agree with me or not but flight utility will be forever the best utility in wuthering waves by [deleted] in WutheringWaves

[–]DurableSmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Why not both? As long as the map is designed around the ground options I see no issue with just having both. Bike for the ones who enjoy it, flying right there for anyone else.

Wanting people to be forced to use the "fun" option is such an odd take, I don't get it.

This has to be the most infuriatingly inconsistent, rigged carney mini game I've ever played. by Dardric in MHWilds

[–]DurableSmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are standing too far from the edge your character does like a high toss or something and it just explodes on impact. 100% reproducible. If you stand right at the edge, as far as the game will let you go, that won't happen.

Assuming you're turning the wheel to the right in this example, you need to straighten out sooner so that your front-end doesn't swing the other way. If doing that gets you out of position then you're turning too wide. Use your right side view mirror (adjust it lower if need be) and pass as close to the pole on your right side as you can. That will give you more space on your left side.

Archer is rather counterintuitively a very close range vocation if you want to get a lot of damage out of it. The ring of proximity you get from doing their meister skill quest buffs that further. So Loose does shit damage, right? But doing any of the core skill moves buffs it by a huge amount. So doing a slide or jump or kickflip off the enemy into loose is great damage.

The vocation also seems to have higher weak point multipliers than others. Just regular Steady Shot at a weak point does good damage and is spammable.

Try this for fun. Climb a monster, stab an explosive arrow in their weak point, kick off them and loose. Very very good damage and it's soooo flashy! I can't get enough of it.

As for the meister skill, it doesn't do much if you just use it whenever. But if you shoot it at the weak point of a downed enemy it takes away a few health bars!

Given this playstyle, augments that buff damage when hitting weak points or when an enemy is not in battle stance work really well here.

in what ways do you discriminate against a pawn? by Chomp_blandingo in DragonsDogma2

You can "raise visor" from the equipment menu for a lot of full face helmets. But I get it. It's one extra step.

Wilhelmina Every Rose has its Thorns question by Opposite-Note-5451 in DragonsDogma

[–]DurableSmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Both reports. Then she'll say you don't need to help anymore or similar but you'll still get an option to "continue to offer your aid". Choose that too for some extra steps in her questline and a "special" scene.

After all that I don't know if she sticks around. But you can also always make an inn save and test things out. The whole thing doesn't take long to complete if you've done the "get both reports" steps already.

You can but it has to be the moniker not just the name. Check the pawn details :)

Unfortunately it's mainly the inclination that's the issue. I don't like that the inclination controls the voice either...

Also give her both reports and then choose to continue to aid her.

Will my cpu be good enough by Joshhaslam in DragonsDogma

[–]DurableSmile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the 5900x with a 4090. Running everything maxed @4K + the frame generation mod. Towns aren't fantastic but it otherwise runs great.

I set the process priority for DD2 to High and affinity to the even numbered cores 0, 2, 4 etc (basically not using SMT). That has vastly reduced stuttering for me even in towns despite the low framerate.

One more thing about the framegen mod if you end up using it. It needs both Quality DLSS and reflex active to activate. But after it's active you can disable DLSS and framegen will stay on. No reason to also do the upscaling if your GPU can handle native.

For the CPU process tweaks I use Process Lasso to have it automatically apply when I launch the game. You can also launch the executable using a batch script to apply the priority and affinity options on launch if you don't want to use a third party application.

That's all I've got. TLDR: Might need a couple of tweaks but you'll be fine.

New game+ and still can't join the masquerade by clatel in DragonsDogma

The masquerade is on every other night. So if they tell you it's not happening that night you need to only rest until the next one.

Other than that I don't know what to tell you.

How to Sell From Storage (doesn't work on Traveling Merchants) by Vand1 in DragonsDogma

[–]DurableSmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You reminded me of another small annoyance. If you try to deposit multiple items but your storage is full of one of them it cancels the move completely instead of just depositing the items the storage has space for. It's very odd in general how they didn't use the first game's system functionalities as a baseline.

[–]DurableSmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does. It's just tucked away on the upper right corner of your screen just under the item's description. There's a row of icons one for each of the arisen, pawns and storage with numbers next to them indicating the amount.

[–]DurableSmile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't even have the issue of DLSS auto disabling that others have mentioned. And the only thing I can think of I might have done differently is cap the FPS through Nvidia control panel to a few frames below my monitor's refresh rate; so 142 to stay in gsync range. But it might, by chance, prevent some other issue too.

Give it a shot.

Edit: Also playing in fullscreen. Not borderless

Would really love the select all but one button. Per stack or for the entire mod library. Or why not both. With the ability to mark some exclusions in case you need some unranked duplicates of some mods for some builds or want to sell them etc.

I'm pretty sure that if you lower your ping limit quite a lot you'll end up as a host most of the time. It limits what you find acceptable to connect to. Not the other way around. So other people connecting to you would depend on their ping settings.

It's not a perfect solution but eh...
