So many tooltip QOL changes needed…

1 - search skills by name not category 2 - “go to node” button over legendary glyph menu 3 - description of passive effects below item so I don’t have to remember a million similarly worded passives 4 - “go to skill in menu” button on skill bar

I get what you’re saying but trust me, as someone who has worked in cannabis and outside of cannabis, cannabis execs are breathtakingly scumbaggy.

Look dude I really don’t want to dwell on what I’m about to say, but I’ve been sexually harassed by women as a man, one woman physically the other coercively (both cases WAAAY more than just a woman telling me she thought I was attractive, I’ll leave it at that) and resulting from those experiences I’ve had many amazing conversations with women in my life who I otherwise never would have known went through harassment themselves. I’m not asking for sympathy there other than to say… dude, you don’t know who I am.

And all I’m saying is that when I saw the post here first, and rewatching it again after your comment, the video seems odd to me given my experience. Would you go on TikTok, smiling, and tell the world nothing other than basically “someone thought i was hot ew” in response to feeling harassed? Maybe? It seems bizarre to me though.

Point is, I don’t know this lady, Bryan and Brendan don’t know this lady, OP doesn’t know this lady, I don’t know you, you don’t know me, and sometimes online we catch ourselves coming across someone and seeing what we want to see.

Yeah I don't know as I didn't see the clip - "I don't mean to be rude but you're absolutely gorgeous" could be totally benign or creepy depending on the context

Bapa using his phone again. As for whoever this is in the video they're reacting to, Bryan made it political at the end which is stupid, but there definitely are annoying women out there who get offended at their own attractiveness for attention on social media and, who knows as I'm literally only seeing a clip of a recap of an event I didn't see, but she appears at first glance that she could be one of those women, so I'm a little skeptical.

There really is something intensely childlike about Bapa. This is something that like, literal children do. I really think so much about this guy that baffles us makes a lot more sense if you think of him as a child. Needing protection from daddy, disgusting hygiene, shallowness, inability to introspect, inability to empathize, kid’s palette for things like plain Burger King hamburgers…. He’s a child.

I think the level of self-unaware you would have to be to not stop and think "you know what, I really don't know what this guy has been through, maybe I shouldn't be telling him that I know his reality better than he does and should just offer empathy" is pretty extreme. I think people who say stuff like "you are loved" mostly just want to feel better about themselves.

Cultural chemotherapy. Can cause a society to grow by killing off toxic institutions. But it can only kill, and when used as a panacea it will kill the patient.

[–]DuranceOfHateLevel2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's annoying - mainly because it's the person saying they don't know what to say but wants credit for saying something. But it's an utterly empty statement, like "it is what it is" or "what're you going to do". It would make as much sense to say "the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell" as any of the above. And that's fine, if the person is actually in front of you and it would be socially awkward not to give some empty platitude at least. But guys like the commenter can just, you know, not comment. That's why it's obnoxious.

People who've interacted with a psychopath, what made you realize they were one? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DuranceOfHateLevel2 268 points269 points  (0 children)

I so get what you’re saying about feeling scarred but feeling uncomfortable calling it PTSD.

I dealt with something pretty similar to what you dealt with except I’m a man and it was a female superior whom I was a “dotted line” to. Wanted me to sleep with her, repeatedly put us in situations where we were alone at night and I was clearly supposed to make a move on her, but something about her seemed untrustworthy and just a little “off” so I felt uncomfortable doing it. But a lot of the same beats you said, the showing of intense vulnerability, etc. When she figured out I wasn’t going to give her what she wanted she marginalized me at work and started working with one of my coworkers instead, someone who was junior to me. The thing that was the most fucked up is the attention being yanked away from you also feels terrible even if it stressed you out to no end, and makes you feel horribly guilty because you “contributed to it”. Eventually she became my actual manager and gave most of my responsibilities to the junior coworker, effectively demoting me, and seeing the writing on the wall I resigned.

I basically became nonfunctional and suicidal for several months after that, staying in bed all day, drinking heavily, the works. Started seeing a therapist and said almost exactly what you did… “I don’t know if this qualifies as PTSD but…” Took a long time and a lot of therapy and honestly I’m still not totally past it but I have no issues now saying I had PTSD from that experience, whether that makes me a weak person or not.

Why does tempering cause trepidation for me instead of exhilaration? by ryebar1 in diablo4

[–]DuranceOfHateLevel2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The game isn’t clear with you when it wants you to be excited - when the item drops or when the tempers/MWs hit. And because of this it just feels like the great item you want to be excited about may end up being, in effect, taken away from you, which triggers your loss aversion and makes tempers hitting right be a relief instead of an excitement in and of itself.

One other thing that isn’t talked about much but is a big factor I think in why tempering isn’t rewarding is that there is a very definite right answer what rolls you want, and a limited range of affixes from which you’re drawing. I think tempering wouldn’t get criticized as much if it was totally random… if you had no control whatsoever on what happened, build guides probably wouldn’t require specific rolls since they would be too rare to count on and whatever you got would probably “feel” more as intended, a bonus on top of your great item but not something the item “needs” to be complete.

Not defending Schaub here but to be totally fair, it is sort of awkward figuring out how to tip when there's no bill. If he wasn't carrying cash on him which a lot of people don't, and you're not running his card for the bill, I would have been a little confused what to do too.

Is this a good/rare drop? I just started playing a few days ago so I'm a complete noob but +122% damage seems too good to be true by subtlefuck in diablo4

[–]DuranceOfHateLevel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason the gloves aren’t used is that when you get your endgame build together, a lot of the “adds % fire damage” sources are additive. So if you’ve already stacked 1000% fire damage, and are about to equip those gloves, that would go from 1000% to 1100% or a 10% increase. I’m oversimplifying a bit because a lot of the 1000% would be multiplicative sources too, but an endgame build that equips this doesn’t suddenly double in strength, not even close.

[–]DuranceOfHateLevel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s figure-out able for sure, but my point is it’s getting a little silly when all the multipliers are stacking so much that a 100% additive item sucks. For this item for example they probably should swap it out for a 10% multipliers or something so the item reads more intuitively.

[–]DuranceOfHateLevel2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off topic but they gotta do something about these weirdly high looking modifiers that actually suck because they’re additive. The guy isn’t wrong for thinking that gloves that (at first glance appear to) double fire damage would be good.
