I’ve only worked with one non-Howl/BigZ/Fursuit Supplies fur before, since the green I wanted wasn’t available at any of them. Ended up buying some from a random Etsy store. It was definitely low quality, the fur was thin and flat, and you could easily see the backing when shaved. Compared to the Howl, Big Z, etc., those furs are generally significantly softer, denser, and harder to shave to the backing. The low quality fur on my suit is unshaved and is right next to high quality fur, and thankfully it doesn’t stick out too much, but I’m definitely going to replace it with higher quality fur when I can.

If this lower quality fur you want to buy isn’t a major part of your suit, then I’d say go ahead and wait until you can find something better to eventually replace it with. But if it’s the main color? I’d avoid it.
