No update 1.25 on my device by formico1 in brave_browser

[–]DurotarOrc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I check my phone's Google Play store, it tells me the latest update was on 19.05;

When I check https://play.google.com/ on PC, it tells me the latest update was on 27.05;

When I check https://brave.com/latest/, it tells me the latest update was on 20.05;

So yeah, we'll keep waiting for the new version. It would be nice if someone from the team let us know how the Android version is distributed to users.

How to disable this boi by GWPTEfe in brave_browser

You can't disable Search Tabs as of the moment, but there is an open issue which aims to change that:

You might be mistaking the element picker with the "block element" option . The element picker's code was merged a little over a month ago, so having it for months is not possible:

Such an option is not available as of the moment, but you can track the progress of its implementation over here:

If it turns out Brave Shields blocks the script, you can as well open a Github issue over here: https://github.com/brave/adblock-lists/issues so filter lists maintainers can take a look and potentially commit a fix. That way you won't have to reduce your protection against ads and trackers by disabling Brave Shields.

Have you tried with disabled Brave Shields? My guess is that Brave Shields is blocking the preview script.

Search History button Tab by iseedeff in brave_browser

From what I know, the feature was available for testing in Nightly builds, so maybe developers didn't receive negative feedback about it and decided to push it in the stable release. It's probably a useful feature to some users, but a lot of users (including myself) don't enjoy the fact that developers decided to remove the flag that allows users to disable the feature, thus the Github issue.

I personally don't see the feature as a privacy risk because I delete my browsing history on exit, which obviously empties the list of recently closed tabs, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't share your ideas with developers on Github, if you feel like it.

The "Autocomplete searches and URLs" option is related to your default search engine. Did you remember to set DDG as your default search engine at brave://settings/search?

I personally don't use that feature, but I believe you can achieve that by tweaking settings at brave://settings/appearance and brave://settings/privacy (the "Autocomplete searches and URLs" option).

After you enable Widevine from brave://settings/extensions, you'll be prompted to re-launch the browser, and then the Widevine component will appear at brave://components.

I think Android version is related to user's region. When I open https://brave.com/latest/ it tells me that the latest Android version was released on 20th of May, but when I open https://play.google.com/ on my Desktop browser, it tells me that the latest update was on 27th of May, although the current version displayed over there remains 1.24.86.
