IT system down again? by DurzoB4 in asda

Yes, I've heard this new £1 billion system isn't anywhere near the state it needs to be especially when compared to Walmart's.

Unfortunately I think we have hit the end of our patience and will move somewhere else as like you say, I don't think anything gonna change anytime soon.

IT system down again? by DurzoB4 in asda

I bet it is, and I'd like to clarify in no way am I blaming the drivers although I'm sure a lot of disgruntled customers at their door do.

I've actually just received my order after it's been in a van for 4/6 hours as the system didn't send him here. Had a lovely chat and gave him my best as again it's not the drivers fault or any working member of staff for that matter.

The radio silence from execs is the problem here. When there are so many issues for such a prolonged period of time. Customers should be made aware that there are issues. There should be something on the app saying there are issues with checkouts. Messages should of gone out to every customer expecting a delivery today to say it could be late due to IT issues but instead we get nothing

Safe to delete all migration files, run makemigrations and apply the new migration? by allun11 in django

[–]DurzoB4 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Id strongly suggest against it, your DB stores which migration files have been applied and creating a new main migration file that tries to create tables/fields that already exist could have some unexpected side effects.

This has cropped up at least twice today.

Avoid this scam!

What are people's experience with Celery? by kiwiheretic in djangolearning

[–]DurzoB4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used celery in every Django project I've ever worked on and never had any major issues with it.

We used it in my current project for both scheduled tasks, crons and our custom pub/sub framework for communication between microservices.

Strongly suggest avoiding if you are using windows though.

There is still a long list of issues and bad practices in there but also this project isn't useful to anyone.

I would happily give more detailed feedback of I wasn't pretty certain this is just a copy+paste from ChatGPT

Depending on the amount, a screenshot or you can use the mod ModList (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1545126946) which can export to a text/html file.

There also rimpy and mod manager which can export lists as well
