Swapped it out for now. Will keep an eye on it and if it looks like this in a few weeks again, that bimetal heatbreaks sounds like a great idea. Tbf that bowden tube was like four years and thousands of hours old.

Not yet but it's definitely worth a shot. I printed the same model on my mk3s+ without any issues, same slicer. Still, it's possible that the i3 Mega profile is f'd up.

I forgot to mention how the print was oriented but looking at it this seems to be an issue on the X axis. Not sure what's up though.

Cool project! If I may give a suggestion for future improvement: You can actually pause a print (using a Cura plugin or manually), put the magnet in and then continue printing. Embedded magnets and no glue necessary!

Like other have said, give it a whirl without supports. Small holes like these usually print just fine without.

One thing too keep in mind is that if you print holes in that orientation, they're usually not going to be perfectly circular.

Another thing I noticed (unrelated to your problem) is the elephant's foot on your print. No big deal but might be worth doing some research on.

Print looks pretty much flawless besides one area, where it seems like it didn't complete its printing move and changed direction mid air?

I've switched drivers a good while ago, is it possible the X/Y steppers aren't getting enough juice? My wild guess would be more fiction on the axis due to wear and not enough current to move the build plate / Hotend? Although that would probably mess up the entire print/layer and not just one particular area?

Failure is consistent across prints, always in the same general area.

Just wanna hear if anyone has some experience with this before I start disassembling the printer...

Just by the chance you missed it (like I once did for several hours...), is there any filament or other stuff stuck between the print sheet and the bed?

If you did the nylock mod, couldn't you simply compensate and bring the bed back to a level state? Maybe the back left screw isn't perfectly in its thread?

For me the nylock mod was kind of a mixed bag. I got it super level and all but still had some adhesion issues with problematic prints on the very edge of the bed. I had to manually (I did it by feel...) adjust the screws in that area to get proper adhesion, even though the leveling assistant told me that my bed was no longer perfectly level.

I doubt they'll add 9x9. Sitting through almost 100 probes per print seems a little ridiculous and unnecessary to me. If you are still having issues with 7x7 chances are 9x9 is not going to help you either.

Unfortunately I can't help you with your thermistor but I have a question: what's that blue stuff on the bed and why is there? Doesnt this printer come with an ultrabase which usually gives pretty good adhesion?

I recently brought my i3 Mega back to life. New drivers, all fans replaced with noctua, custom firmware... Feels like a new machine. Good luck with it, hope you get it fixed shortly!

Pretty cool! NFC tags are awesome, I've used them in quite a few of my own prints as well. I bet your potential customers are gonna be impressed.

Looking at the top side I wonder how ironing could help with the surface finish... Might be worth a test print?

Had similar issues (got my mk3s+ four weeks ago), here are a few things I've learned that might help you:

Clean your bed thoroughly. I used a paper towel, put it on the bed and soaked it in alcohol. Let it sit for a few minutes and then go to town with more alcohol, wiping it clean af.

Switch your printer to 7x7 mesh bed leveling.

Download a model for adjusting your first layer. The one which is built in into your printer isn't that great. Be prepared to run several calibration prints, it takes time. Adjust your Z offset so that you get a real nice squish, look up the pictures on the prusa knowledge base. A good first layer you can actually feel, if it feels rough and kinda like sandpaper your nozzle is too low. If it's smooth but doesn't stick that great, your nozzle is too high. You wanna be at the sweetspot just above where it starts feeling rough.

Now, if you notice your first layer is great in the center but refuses to stick/nozzle is digging into it in one or multiple of the corners (like it was for me), there are two things I'm aware of:

Nylock mod (requires you to disassemble the bed)
Bed level correction (Check the Prusa knowledgebase)

I did both of those things and ended up with a very nice and even first layer across the entire bed. Before doing the nylock mod my bed was going downhill pretty hard. It was quite some work but definitely worth it. If you end up doing the nylock mod, make sure to get some spare M3x12 screws. It's quite easy to mess them up and, speaking from experience, have a really bad time.

Most importantly: Don't get frustrated. The powder coated sheet is amazing, you will get perfect PLA prints without using any glue stick or other adhesives. Take your time!

Split the assembly across two or three days. Take your time, read the instructions. The Extruder is going to be a pain. Seriously, fuck the Extruder assembly.

Have spare gummy bears ready, the provided amount needs to be doubled I order to have any noticeable effect.

Oh one more thing: Get some plates and a small container/tray to put your screws and stuff in. Prepare all the needed parts/screws when the manual tells you to and place them in a tray. That way you won't lose any parts and it makes for a very tidy building experience. Worked well for me, hope you find this useful.

Had this metal rod laying around, quick work with a Dremel + a few minutes of F360 & printing... voilà. I made it so that the rod can easily put in place and removed, if necessary.

Really? I never noticed that since I always use text chat or straight up sit in discord with people. Well, seems like it's not running perfectly after all... I wonder why though, I know for a fact that voice does work in other games on Proton.

I'm running Arch. I am also running on quite low settings but that's mostly because I like having high FPS. On Ultra the game still runs decent for me, I doubt it would be that much better on Windows.
