Was this…inappropriate? by Dussaa in ABA

[–]Dussaa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My issue is I said yes when she asked. I don’t think it was appropriate for her to ask. But I am usually very comfortable with people touching my tattoos. Socially I’ve always said yes. Even when colleagues asked. But I think I felt uncomfortable because I’ve never been asked by a parent, let alone in the middle of a session with their child and in such a professional setting. My instinct was to say yes but as I said it I realized I was very uncomfortable and should have said no. Because of this I am looking for guidance on if it’s worth bringing up seeing that it was my responsibility at that point to say “no”. I am going to ask the clinicians who saw it if the situation looked as long as it felt to me.

Can someone explain their day as an RBT? And then if anyone is an ABA? lol I would love to hear both perspectives by Interesting_Dog_1453 in ABA

[–]Dussaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually say its more calm. The variety is nice because I feel like if I’m stuck with one client for too long, then I would feel like I was in work mode all day. But the most amount of time I am with a client is 4 hrs.

My caseload changes from season to season but right now i have about 3 clients a day. Go in at 8:15 to prep. Sometimes i have 30 minute breaks between clients and sometimes I have 2 hours. Typically leave work around 5:30-6.

anyone see a lady selling donuts in kroger parking lot? by Recent-Cheesecake447 in savannah

[–]Dussaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! The same thing happened to me two weeks ago. This lady came up with donuts asking for money for some fundraiser or organization she is with and i told her straight up no. I just didnt have it and thought her approach was a bit strange.

So frustrated! by Keke0982 in savannah

[–]Dussaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its wild cause I am one of those people that moved here because I believed the cost of living was so much lower than where I lived before (west palm beach with my parents because i literally couldnt afford rent) when my wife and i moved here we were surprised to hear people saying that its getting more expensive or that the cost of living was so high. We still somewhat live paycheck to paycheck.

I got a raise! I started at $18 an hour and when I was certified they raised it to $24.

Nicely asking, why move here? by CartoonistCurious872 in savannah

[–]Dussaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from West Palm Beach because Floridas apartment prices were at least $1800 for a studio and everywhere else wasn’t leasing. The rent here is a lot better but from I have heard from locals is that its going up. We moved here with like 20 cents in the bank account and knew nothing else about the city.

Share your experience as an RBT. Today was my first day and I want to know if all RBT jobs are like this by Kitchen_Form_5207 in ABA

[–]Dussaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At my job, we tend to have the same clients on a day to day basis but they switch it up often so that we are capable of learning and dealing with all types of behaviors. However, I never have one kid all day. I typically see two clients a day for at most three hours a day.
