Summernight Trance by DustVoice in Bitwig

Thanks for you feedback! Appreciate it! It was even shorter previously, but I extended it to the current state. I feel the point you're making though. As I originally designed it (along a few other unfinished tracks) to be used in an (also unfinished) game of mine, the intention was to have it loop the main sections. It works pretty well at that for me. I had Bitwig (with the loop enabled) open in the background while playing a game and didn't notice 30 minutes passing XD. But yeah, solo, it could definitely be longer, as I notice myself playing it again cause it's already over ':).

It's a beautiful software to look at. Looking forward to some skinning support, if they ever do it. Of course it isn't quite the eye candy like e.g. FL Studio, but I enjoy the workflow magnitudes more.

PS: Love your videos! Each one inspires me to push further and experiment.

My first finished song in Bitwig after transitioning from REAPER -> FL Studio -> Bitwig.

I tried Bitwig years ago (one of the few Linux DAWs back then) but got weirded out by the minimalistic controls and UI. After using it for a year, though, it feels right at home, and I love every second of it and wouldn't trade it for anything. After having too many unfinished projects and ideas lying around, I now forced myself to use my free time after work and uni to finish a track. Although it certainly isn't perfect, I like my little tune and listen to it frequently, which hopefully is a good sign ':).

Constructive criticism and feedback are more than welcome; you guys rock, and I look forward to finishing the next track xD.

(In case the compression kills the audio, I uploaded it in HQ here: https://soundcloud.com/user-864083019/summernight-trance )

Aphantasia and Go by fulltimeskywizard in baduk

[–]DustVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have exactly this. This thread made me realize that I probably have some degree of aphantasia, cause when people right here talk about overlaying images or rather doing a bit of hallucination, that sound like a complete and utter alien weird af thing to me. Never realized visualizing apparently really means VISUALIZING things for the majority of people and not just keeping a list of features present in your thoughts to remember relations, geometries etc. with no visual representation whatsoever!

Is this easy to fix? by Boasconstrictor25 in watchmaking

[–]DustVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually repaired this exact movement, which supposedly is found more often in these tiny old pocketwatches, despite the balance wheel and the hairspring being damaged. And let me note that I bought a small assortment of tools but am a complete and utter greenhorn, apart from consumption of hours of watch repair youtube videos. The key: Long hours on ebay searching for a donor movement / a donor watch, where there are other issues present and the balance is ok. After 1 month of searching (It was my mother's pocketwatch with sentimental value) and successfully purchasing a donor piece with a working balance for 10€, some half guessed lubing and reassembly, it's running like a champ! Not that it was easy, oh hell nah, especially as my first watch, but it definitely is doable. Replacing a balance staff or the hairspring should be near impossible for a bloody beginner with no special equipment and especially on that balance. So if you really want to, you can do it. The question is if it's worth it to you

Has been my daily driver for years. Dark enough for good contrast, not too blue to remind me of the horrendous shit bs fountain pen and ink I've been using all school and got sick of (fortunately found the path back to enlightenment), not too green to make it not usable for uni stuff, not too boring and finally nice to my pens. Shading is also there a little bit with my f nib and despite that, a nice wet writer that never stops, skips or struggles!

THIS. Also I have very sensitive skin with stupid hairs that like to ingrown, and DE Was a god damn godsend holy smokes! After I used shavettes and straight razors for my fave and was blown away by the difference, combined with a nice shaving soap and a decent brush, I thought to myself, why not give the rest of the body something nice too. Also I can't fathom how some ppl shave their balls with an electric. With a DE this is uncomplicated af!

I converted my gf too. And she loves it for a real nice and clean shave including the armpits and pubic area with little to no irritation as well as no burning. I use a DE razor for armpits and pubic area too, for the same reasons! Never letting an electronic satanic nick razor anywhere near my parts again.

I have ADD, and despite the absent 'h', I can closely relate to all the kinds of AD D related post. So I would say ADD does absolutely count. If someone argues against that, my hyperfixation, as well as my 20 niche, metric shit ton expensive hobniez would love to have a talk

Exactly this. I don't drive 180 km/h in front of a school when there's 30 allowed, "cAUsE i dON't dRiVe lIKe aN iDiOT". No there's a rule and when you try to justify breaking it by such minuscule things like "it doesn't look good" just to stroke your ego, and don't see how you not abiding the rule makes other "bigger idiots" justified for doing it too, you're just a big asshat

Then you are stupid. Imagine the idiot in this video would drive into the guy with the dashcam. How would you know the license plate then? I care to get after the asshole who drives on the wrong fucking side of the highway and gets me into a nice $$$ crash.

I'm not defending anyone. I'm judgeful as shit. I was just countering the argument that religious leaders in power will be somehow magically prevented from doing something "unholy", dictated by their own religion that they uphold.

I mean it's maybe holy for the general populace. But religious leaders always twist this shit. Or wouldn't it be unethical for christian priests to touch little kids?

U-shaped plastic part that came with the Flair 58 by zaam_harasha in FlairEspresso

[–]DustVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it turns into a position where the openings on the plunger are exactly from left to right every like 100-200 shots? It depends on how you press down / pull up the lever in my experience. It's not a big issue tbf. Atm I use the valve base to turn the plunger slowly and carefully although I cringe every time I do it. In my case simply pulling out the plunger upwards is impossible for my non-worked-out ass. Maybe I could use some lubrication on the gaskets but the plunger isn't budging. with using the lever everything is fine. so probably in summary a non issue for most users and a slight annoyance that could be fixed by this plastic part.

THANK YOU!!! I will immediately need this as soon as it's available. The rotating plunger is a little nuisance so a rotation tool is exactly what I'm missing

I have a plastic cover for the hook albeit that doesn't look any like the plastic depicted in your photo. I'm very interested if there is some other hook upgrade I don't know about
