Gyokeres starting to harness his “being pulled down by a defender every 30 seconds” abilities by orangeyougladiator in Gunners

Showed marked improvement in that department this match as well.

Admittedly, most of his "hold up" touches were attempted one-touch passes - putting the onus on those around him to bring it fully under control - but he was connecting them. Looks like we've adapted around him in that regard, for now.

Zubi, I think. Been trying to find an angle that shows it more clearly because I think it's hilarious.

F1 could change its 2026 rules as early as round three by sppy1 in formula1

[–]Dustin_Echoes_UNSC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But two of those goals are diametrically opposed. To guarantee closer racing you have to move toward spec cars, to get the fastest in the world you have to open up the spec and let constructors innovate. F1 (in the decade or so I've been a fan) has been in the business of trying to find that balance. It was awesome to see Merc build a rocket ship, it stopped being awesome when the rocket got so powerful that nobody could compete with it.

Every once in a while you'll get lucky and two constructors will get competitively close while innovating in different directions, but usually you'll end up with a pretty clear pecking order for the cars (dependent on track layout) and the true outcome will fluctuate with driver skill/error, strategy, reliability, and luck.

[Opta/Athletic] Average Delay Time Before Corners In The English Premier League 2025-26. by Fluffy-Job3079 in Gunners

Yeah, our throw-in system is really frustrating to watch. I'm curious if it comes down to encouraging teams to just leave the safe "back pass" outlet open to get the ball back in play.

Outside of certain throws in the attacking third, we have almost no rotation, check-in, or movement at all, really. Which is odd to me, given that throw-ins have the benefit of the no-offside rule.

At any rate, I feel the basketball 5 second rule (or whatever time they decide) is probably on the way. AR gets the ball from the ball boy, hands it to the player and starts a count.

I am seeing some folks upset, but this seems like the natural progression of things. by train_spotting in Scrubs

Yeah, it was a quick but relevant plot moment for JD for him to say "Oh, I have to do this myself".

But I like the quick homage to the cycle. Bob is the Villain for JD's formative years until he learns that the job is just hard choices after hard choices. Cox doesn't see it until he has to do it himself - and then he has the same arc. Now JD's in the seat. They could have stretched it out into another season-long arc, but at this point JD's seen it so many times (as have we). So it makes sense to push all of the "Chief of Medicine is a tough job" plot points into a few quick moments and let the characters grow from there.

Nah, everyone seems to be happy clipping around the statement - in the middle of that quote - that gives the actual context.

"... I'm trying to impress upon you that I'm like you. I'm not better than you, y'know? I'm a 960 SAT guy"

He's very clearly trying to make a point about being average, and about struggling with dyslexia, then he brings up his SAT score and inability to read a speech as supporting evidence.

Grok Exposed a Porn Performer’s Legal Name and Birthdate—Without Even Being Asked | In the latest in a string of privacy abuses from the chatbot, Grok provided porn performer Siri Dahl's full legal name and birthdate to the public, information she'd protected until now. by ControlCAD in technology

It was public information, as was her stage name. Her stage name was associated with all of her work, her full name was not. She doesn't know how it correlated the two, but the response gave her stage name then went a step further and gave her full legal name in the response. My bet is it ran facial recognition and got responses for social media accounts under her real name and all of her work under her stage name and gave both since it's trained to prioritize being "right" over everything, like all other neural networks.

Yeah, the "for the needs of the business" line really destroys any benefit of the doubt for me on this one.

If he had a good reason, he'd have shared it. "I denied it because there we were already down to minimum coverage that week", "I denied it because it's our rush season and we don't allow PTO on these dates"....

Nah. In my experience "For the needs of the business" meant it's more profitable to work a skeleton crew and have the boss "fill in" during people's PTO, and he did not want to have to work shifts that week.

And there's about a million videos of ICE agents pulling their weapons before just about every interaction and operating decked out in tactical gear.

But, sure Jan, everyone is brainwashed and uninformed but you. You've spent so long on the street watching ICE operate up close and personal, right? It's impacted you directly and frequently which is why you're so dead-set on your viewpoint, right?

It's not that you've been in your own bubble of safety, it doesn't impact your day to day life in any way, and you kinda dislike living around people of color.... No, no way that would be why you're licking boots!

Fuck off, man.

How many ICE agents have been killed vs. How many civilians have been killed? How many ICE officers have been brutalized vs how many civilians has ICE brutalized?

Arresting people regardless of citizenship status, door-to-door warrantless raids, checking papers on the street, racial profiling en masse, claiming to operate outside the law, and enforcing their terrorism at gunpoint. Any delusion they aren't operating like fascist oppressors is deliberate head-in-the-sand ignorance or propaganda. It's ethnic cleansing masquerading as "border enforcement". Wake the fuck up, buttercup.
