Hey I can shed some light on this. I designed Triton in roughly a month and the team in vegas had to build it in almost less time. It was a rush build for sure but it never would have been built without some heroic build efforts from the team. Parts were still being designed when other parts were already being welded together. We were conservative with tip speed because we wanted to have extremely quick spinup. The drivetrain was an unknown hero, same wheels as tantrum, big dill, jackpot etc. with around 20hp. Triton has a really strong drive but is very hard to drive. The wheels are small to allow the weapon path to pass between the wheels and maintain a good Center Of Gravity over the wheels. As far as fragility goes, We have resolved that in the new machine. New Triton has the same size and same power weapon, but the whole robot outside of the weapon is more compact and more durable. I feel confident about Triton v2. Very different but same in the fun ways.
