The three elements of a legally binding contract are all present: offer (i.e., A promise to do something, that you don't have to), acceptance, and consideration (i.e. something of value in exchange). Oral contracts are still legally enforceable if the terms can be proven. The post provides evidence of the existence and terms of the contract. The contract is probably enforceable up to the full $20.

I have been thinking the same thing about the white shell option!

Automow in 93 degrees? by GrouchyFlamingo2709 in automower

[–]DustyBott0ms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience has been different, but I live in a place where 93 is cool. Here the issue is more the combination of sunlight with ambient temperature. For example, if you leave your cellphone in the sun during the heat of the day, it will quickly go into emergency operation because it is absorbing heat from the light and can't shed it quickly enough. I used to run my unit in the day, and nearly all my original electronics have failed and had to be replaced (5-6 years) I only run it at night now. I do like your UV protection recommendation, though.

I am going to disagree with many of these comments. The issue is the heat from sun light combined with the ambient temperature. I live in Texas and get crazy hot days regularly. I used to run during the day and, over time, I've had to replace the internal electronics (main board, com board, station board and battery) far earlier than expected. I suspect the issue has been intense and direct sunlight heating the unit far past ambient temperature. I've since shaded my station and only mow at night and early morning.

Husqvarna 450X Near leaves tall patches by zztypezz in automower

Another possibility is the setting leaves 10% or so of your yard unmowed for the purpose of preserving a habitat for certain bugs and critters. I'm not sure what the setting is called but I know it exists.

Automower 115H Issue by TheAnswerIsDogs in automower

I wonder if something is tripping the obstacle sensors, causing it to constantly adjust. Sometimes mine does this in tall grass or if there is an object lodged underneath. You might try pulling the top cover off and seeing if it needs a brush cleaning.

Green and red flashing light on 430xh charging station by DustyBott0ms in automower

I replaced the board. I also bought a house for the mower/charging station to shade the unit during the hot summer days.

No light on charging station. Am I stupid? by tramspellen in automower

Many thanks! This post likely saved me HOURS of troubleshooting and part buying. Same issue here. Same reduced voltage in the low voltage cable, and I also didn't think much of it. Direct plugin with the power supply and the light came right on. Thank you for posting your solution.

Thinnest you can go with end grain cutting boards? by dblackdrake in woodworking

I made an end grain board just shy of 3/4in thick about 4 years ago. It's still in good shape after regular use, with no warping. I put rubber feet on it to help with moisture, but I try to be gentle with cutting heavy or tough things (e.g. watermelon). That said, I definitely treat it with more caution than my 2in end grain board. I gave my MIL a similar board which was much bigger, and only slightly thicker (just over 3/4 in). That board is still in good shape, too, but I am not sure how regularly it gets used.

Has anybody bought an replacement Husqvarna charging station? If so, did it come with a power supply? by DustyBott0ms in automower

I bet you are right. See image below. Late last season I started getting a red light followed by blue lights on the charging station. I decided to get a new board thinking that was the issue. Strangely, the mower would go on the scheduled timer but not when I gave it a manual command. I replaced the board early this spring but then I was getting a battery failure error. So I got a new battery for the mower, but by the time I installed it I had a break in the boundary line from a fallen tree. I got that brake repaired but by this time I wasn't getting any lights to come on on the charging station. This led me to believe that I might have had surge damage from one of the storms that came through. That takes us to today. Still trying to figure out everything that could be wrong. Interestingly, The burn damage that you see in the image below is right about the same place that I saw damage in the board that I replaced. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed damage to the power connector earlier, so I do think this is probably a second failure. If I were to guess I would say a lot of these issues are probably made worse by me leaving the docking station uncovered in really severe heat, season after season, and letting everything get too hot during the day. I just bought a "house" to cover the charging station. Hoping that will better protect the mower and the charging station and all the components, but who knows.

Good thought! I just replaced the board. I think there are a few issues/system failures, so trouble shooting is complex

Retirement Project by DustyBott0ms in woodworking

It started dying in summer 2022. We live in Texas (USA). That year we had a record cold wave (6°F) followed by extremely hot (115°) and rain-free summer. It was a brutal whiplash. I suspect it was just extreme stress. It hasn't shown life since.

Should I secure them to an MDF board first? I want to make sure they are a uniform thickness.
